No. He would betray them nevertheless. He was a coward.

I dislike Peter as much as the next guy, but it's pretty stupid to deny that he was as close to the other three as any of them were. That is why the nature of his betrayal was so terrible, exactly because he was one of them.

And there is no reason for young!Peter to be an asshole, a traitor, or a terrible person. Yet, anyway. Cowardly, maybe. But even this is taken way disproportionately by ff writers.

Yeah, I have doubts this is going to be amazing, and they all have really noticeable American accents, especially James who also looks...off. They're gonna have to be very clever to manage a half decent movie on that budget.

Lol, that fucking 'English' accent at the end of the video.

I'd rather they just had mild American accents than badly attempted British ones, their bound to get it wrong and we watch so much American TV anyway its not exactly going to be jarring for us.

Though I'd love 'Harry' to attempt a genuine Surrey accent... that would make this so much better...

Couldn't find a decent Surrey accent video, but here is a lovely example 2 Harry Potter fans getting my county, right next to Surrey, spot on.

Did not check the site, but just looking at the actors...I cannot tell who's who aside from Lily and Remus. I only get Remus because of the mention earlier in the thread. That is not a good thing. If I cannot pick Snape or Pettigrew easily from this group then the casting is doing a piss-poor job.

I think you use the term "Casting" wrong. I think this is a group of friends/fans, who wanted to make a movie. So they choose rolls they fit best, which is not much to go on.

Reminds me of all the people who try to write Mcgonagall with a Scottish accent. God is at jarring because it sounds nothing like how anybody I know talks.

Eh to be fair Harry grew up in a middle class household, and was shipped off to private school in Scotland most of the time, he probably would have more of a generic middle class southan accent, it would just be funny if they tried to go for true 'authenticity' and give him a regional accent.

The guy talking about it - with the glasses - I thought was going to be James Potter, looks sort of like what we know about James... current James sounds weird.

Thought Remus's actor was going to be Sirius's.

    And Snape looks too normal.

The movie is going to take place in the Marauder's 6th year so they said there was going to be minimum James/Lily shipiness. The actors (James and Snape) are going to use wigs. I think it's going to be 45 minutes or so.

I don't think they are going to unwatchably bad, but they are still amateurs with a low budget. Snape, at least, looked rather good actually, from the script reading they uploaded, though Lily was eh.

Like I said before, the simple fact there will probably be neither Slash nor modern American muggle shit means it will by default be better than at least 90% of every Marauder Fic out there. Personally, I'm not that interested in the actors as opposed to the Story: for all we know, it could be a damned good one.

A nice trick for them to pull would be to really ground the story in the 70s, hairstyles, clothes, surrounding politics, hell cover up the tiny camera budget by shooting it with a 70s inspired style. With a light touch it could make it look less like a recreation of the HP movie aesthetic on a shitty budget.

But how much influence would muggle culture have in Hogwarts, especially with purebloods or even halfbloods?

Here's hoping WB shuts them down before they produce a piece of shit so terrible it permanently stains the HP brand by association.

Well nobody stopped the Very Potter Musical, so I'm not sure if they'll stop this.

The Very Potter Musical falls into the category of parody, which is a protected class of speech (thus how books like Barry Trotter can be sold). This is just straight up copyright infringement.

Hopefully a fair bit, Hogwarts may seem like a place out of time but its filled up with kids, and they do get influenced by the culture of the time.

Anyway a few background issues being played on would give the whole thing some depth, theres a shit-tone to draw from, the 70s were a weird time for Britain. You've got first wave feminism, civil rights, Britain loosing the last of its empire (that would be intreresting to explore from a wizarding world point of view), recession, fading industrial culture in the north, strikes, unions, punks, the Cold War escalating, the Arab oil boom, Vietnam, serious class upheaval, the music, the fashion.

To name a few, now obviously they're not making a film about 70s Britain, they don't need to add all this shit, but a film set in 70s wizarding Britain should have some of this stuff creeping round the edges, they're isolated from the world, not removed from it, some of that stuffs gonna effect young wizarding culture, even young pure-blood culture.

Hell the slow fade of the British empire upset alot of toffs, if the purebloods were loosing a magical empire on top of that, well it would explain Voldermort having such an easy time of it, people like strong leaders at a time like that, look at Putin.
