The headliners this year will probably be FF15, KH3, SW Battlefront, Destiny, Dragon Age, and Smash Bros, but I'm excited for a bunch of the smaller titles too (Witcher 3, The Order: 1886, Planetside 2).

Huzzah for video games and the meager escape they provide from my utterly boretastic life.

I've been following this closely, obviously, as E3 is virtually Christmas to any gamer that has an income -_-

I'll leave my thoughts on what the news leading up to it this year means until after the show (WE COULD STILL GET LAST GUARDIAN!!!!), but as of now, FFXV and KH3 won't be there - confirmed. Nor will Guerrila Games' new IP be there either. We still have no idea what the other Sony First Parties are working on, so I'm cautiously optimistic...

Though, I'm starting to get the feeling that Gamescom will be the one to look forward to in the very near future...

Still looking forward to Sony's conference. You don't open up 40 theaters across NA - to watch the conference - if you don't plan on having a massive show.

I'm mostly awaiting Sony conference, to see if they will anounce The Last of Us 2 or a new God of War game. I would also like to see new MGSV traileres. And maybe CDProjekt Red will show some new trailers for Cyberpunk 2077.

Meh, unless they introduce new hardware, E3 mostly bores me. All I'm interested in is Uncharted 4 since the writer and creative director left/was fired along with the game director. Doesn't bode well for the game. :\

I'm mostly interested in the output from the console holders in general (for a variety of reasons. For Sony I want to see what they've got for my PS4 and Vita, for MS I'm curious what they'll bring out to dig the Bone out of its hole, and for Nintendo I want to see how they'll try to actually sell the WiiU since almost no one seems to actually want the thing.)

I'm also curious what those unannounced titles are. I'm a bit less interested in things I already know about unless it's a gameplay trailer for a title that hasn't had one yet.

I suspect that they are planning to beat Duke Nukem Forever's record of time in development which means 7 more years of waiting. ;)

    Waiting for:
    - MSGV,
    - Witcher 3,
    - Cyberpunk 2077,
    - Dragon Age: Inquisition,
    - Batman: Arkham Knight,
    - unannounced superhero, single player and open world RPG title in either Marvel or DC universe (it's going to happen one day, right? ;) ).

Neil Druckman and Bruce Straley are in charge of Uncharted 4. They were the ones in charge of Uncharted 2, so not too bad, lol...

Oh, they also did this little game called The Last of Us.

The only reservation I have for that game is the direction it takes. I just don't want it to be dark (which seems to always receive critical acclaim). No reason to suspect this, but it's still at the back of my mind.

As for Nintendo, I get the annoying feeling they'll focus on this NFC shit a lot. Mario figurines, because apparently kids love Mario these days?

I'd ask them if that's true, but they tell me they have no idea what the fuck I'm talking about and go back to playing Minecraft...

It's all about the Smash Bros. tournament. That and Beyond Good and Evil 2. Right, Ubisoft?

    ...a man can dream.

Civilization: Beyond Earth is what I'm most excited for, but Destiny is what I'll be most interested in. Mostly because my purchase of the former is guaranteed barring them completely fucking it up, but my purchase of the latter is highly dependent on several factors.

I'd love to see a Prince of Persia Ubiart game. I could dig a 2D PoP game and I'm feeling some Ubiart game announcements.

The ludicrous thing is how little we know of Destiny.

I'm hoping for a Borderlands with the online / multiplayer of Journey (kind of random/ seamless multiplayer).

    Wut?

Anyway I'm more interested in the unannounced stuff. Hopefully we get more on the new FROM game than just an official release of the already leaked trailer.

Witcher is most definitely a 'small' series. It's awesome, but a lot of rpg gamers still haven't played it, or really even heard of it, because the original never made it to consoles. The sequel only hit Xbox in 2012. Playstation audiences have still never even been exposed to the series.

One of your listed big ones was Dragon Age dude. Dragon Age sells less than The Witcher by a lot going by their previous installments, and reception to those installments and comparative notoriety for TW3 as compared to 2 doesn't bode well for that gap closing rather than increasing.

If we were talking about the content of game itself or the size of it's development (especially compared to its predecessor) then obviously small wouldn't apply either.

By that definition Starcraft is a 'small' series too. :p

Not really. Online MMOs find the majority of their audience from PC. Single player RPG's like the witcher find the majority of their audience on console.

I think the only big name game that really breaks that trend is Diablo.

And apparently The Witcher 2, where it sold all of 600k on Xbox 360 as versus millions on PC.

But hey, actual measurable facts aren't as important as vague ideas about demographics.

Also holy shit did you just call Starcraft an MMO?

    My list:

    Dragon Age: Inquisition
    Witcher 3
    The Order: 1886
and a little for Cyberpunk 2077 (found out about it recently, I know very little, but hey, it's a RPG made by CD Projekt)

Big hype on all of them, but DA:I especially so. I've been waiting anxiously for it, it's my big game of the year. I hope it's not the huge disappointment that was my last big game of the year. Damn you Rome II.
