Will be sorry to see Dance's Tywin go - he along with Dinklage and Turner are the best actors on the show.

 

Er, is this the spoiler thread? We used to have a thread for book readers and a thread for the show, but I think they've ended up mixed up and now we have multiple threads all for general book/show discussion. Perhaps a mod could make things clear for us about spoiler policy?

 

Turner, as in Sophie Turner? I wouldn't go so far as to say that she's one of the best actors/actresses on the show. In fact, I'd go for the opposite direction. That scene with her and Lysa, where she, ahh, professes to being a virgin got me in stitches. Every subsequent appearance, the snow-castle Winterfell, her testimony on Littlefinger's behalf... all were done rather poorly, IMO.

I'd like to know though what made you consider her, provided you are talking about her and I'm simply not ignorant about yet another actor whose last name is Turner, one of the best actors on the show.

The book one is here (link to last page). It is not coincidentally located in the Books and Anime Discussion board of Multimedia.

This one has always been more focused on the TV Show, which is why it's in Movies, Music and TV shows. fire just went retard and should edit his post so he doesn't spoil people who don't know what's gonna happen.

 

It's the case of the title. It has nothing to do with the TV show, but references the book directly. That's why there should be a separate thread for the TV, without any spoilers from the books.

This could stay as a general GOT/ASOIAF discussion thread. Messing books with the series.

It's interesting that after five years and 4 seasons of the show this thread became insufficient all of sudden and new thread had to be opened. Yet, somehow users managed so far, and whaddya know, used spoilers tag since page two of this thread.

Apparently, when someone is too lazy - I'm looking at you, fire - to use spoiler tags, we need a new thread all of sudden.

We don't but now we have.

Then maybe you or gbbz should also add a big warning in the new thread that discussion starts near the end of season 4 and will contain TV Show spoilers for those who haven't yet watched the series from season 1 onward since page 1 of the GoT thread.

That aside, how much of a rushed episode do you think the next one will be?

I mean, they have Shae, Tyrion, Tywin, Jaime, Cersei, Jon, Daenerys, Stoneheart, Arya, Brienne and who knows what else, and we're expecting to see that all neatly fitting in the span of a single episode?

Some people, mind you there's not many of them, are saying that Stoneheart would be cut, to which I would respond with this:



That's an image from Lena Headey's instagram account, with the title "My stone heart". She's been already known to talk about upcoming stuff and divulge it via that same instagram thing, like her photo with Pedro Pascal where the pads of her thumbs are pressing on his closed eyes.

Now, I got a few questions for several folks here who are already well acquainted with the stuff from the books, so everyone else, beware.

Do you think they will still do the Frey pies in Season 5? Mind you, I'm not expecting it not outright happening, but just near the end of the season, most likely the 7th or 8th episode.

Has there been any more character casts that have leaked since that last list with mostly Dornish characters?

Will they still go along with the fake Arya Stark subplot? Is Jeyne Poole even alive in the show? Consequently, will they try and make Ramsey appear more monstrous, like he actually was, and less homolustful for Theon/Reek?

How much will they focus on Dorne? There are some rumors floating about that Jaime is going to go to Dorne.

Are they planning to put AFFC and ADWD material all in the same season? It would be quite the feat if they did, provided they didn't utterly butcher it.

Oh who am I kidding, of course they'll butcher it.

Cersei will get whitewashed to hell and back, hell, they're already doing everything they can to make her appear in a sympathetic light to the audience.

They made the Lannisters bankrupt specifically for the show so she couldn't pay the Iron Bank even if she wanted to. And don't you go on about "We don't know if the Lannisters aren't bankrupt in the books" because we fucking know through Kevan Lannister's inner monologue in which he remarks that the Lannister gold could easily pay off the Iron Throne's debt to the IB should they feel so inclined, but Kevan notes that he will do as Tywin did and not give a single coin without something in return.

Maybe they'll surprise us. Maybe next season shows us how fucking utterly insane Cersei is. Maybe they might actually show to the audience that it wasn't her marriage to Robert that made her so bitter and cruel, that she was always like that, from before she heard the valonqar prophecy, from before the day she pushed her friend down a well because the girl fancied Jaime and fantasized about being his wife.

Hell, I'm just hoping for a decent rendition of that scene in the White Sword tower, when she wants to fuck Jaime but he's completely against it because it would bring desecration to some place that he once cherished above all else (funny though how he didn't mind fucking over his son's cold corpse, but then again neither did Cersei), and she just goes full blown insulting, bitter and mad, telling him how often she lied to him and so on.

Should they alter this... any part of it... I don't know if I'll keep up with the show.
