The boy's name is "Olly".
He uses a bow and is according to him "the best marksman" in his village
He wants revenge for his dad who was an innocent farmer killed by Ygritte

By the way, after this season, the book spoilers will be obsolete because the show has pretty much... caught up

 

They (show audience who hasn't read the books) still haven't been given the magnificent experience of reading about the sunset finding Daenerys Targaryen squatting. Until then, the show is behind the books.

 

No spoilers allowed, but Grim better finish the last two books in a timely fashion . I'll wait a year for season 5, but don't make me wait any longer, or nukes will drop.

 

No ghosts will ever enter that protoss base of GRRM. He will simply curbstomp every upstart T, or Z.

 

What? This season catches us up to the end of Storm of Swords, no? We still have all of the material in Feast for Crows and Dance with Dragons.

Very much true. But the way the Arya story is progressing we could see a big shortcut.

Well, the show is increasingly diverging from the books, but that presumably means that we're going to have alternative material rather than no material.

 

I don't think that's a good thing but we are way past that now, so might as well enjoy the ride.

I just hope that they know is and are making sure the quality doesn't drop when they're out of material or have gone too far to tie it in back with Martin.

 

That reminds me of my new theory how the producers may wait for the 7th book to be published (I'm assuming that the 6th will be out the next year). They can't for various reasons stop shooting the series, but nobody said that they can't film the last season and wait with its premiere till GRRM is done.

Though they would need to be prepared for an invasion of countless fans trying to spy on the sets.

 

The sad thing is that is actually highly possible with the weirdo fans

I'm annoyed that they killed Pyp and Grenn, who are still alive as of book 5

It's weird that they spent the whole of episode 9 focusing on nothing but the wall, and without even having Stannis there. They're going to have to fit an awful lot into episode 10, including the shock stuff that involves Tyrion that we've been waiting for all season.

 

@Anarchy - the next episode will be only about Tyrion and the Wall. And 5 minutes to finish Brans story arc for this season. There is nothing else to see. Brienne finished some time ago and is set for AFfC. The Vale almost caught up to the books. Arrya is totally out of rails, but who cares anymore? And Daenerys started her book-long boring stint in Meereen. Except Tyrion and the Wall there is nothing more to show.

Tyrion will take the last 15 minutes of the last episode, because him fraging his father is a better season finale than Stannis charging the Wildlings. And I'm betting $10 that Tyrion will loose the bolt, it will hit Tywin and the screen will fade to black before the audiance will learn if Tywin died or lived

I could've swore that I read somewhere that the next 2-3 season are going to be a combination of material from the rest of the books, published and unpublished. So, I guess we could say that next season will both catch up and surpass book canon.
