I dunno. I sort of get that if they just didn't want to have to bring back Fairley.

I personally think they could have had a shot of Thoros chanting over her grave or something at the end. Then it could pan in close, and the last thing we'd see is the earth tremble and a finger poke through. :awesome

He's kinda right though, if a bit dismissive. All she would do in the finale is kill someone. Having a season to set her up right would be good. And it might not be in their hands Fairley was on 24 after all, you can't just freeze actresses till you need them for one scene.

I would be more annoyed if she doesn't show up next season but even then, unless GRRM contradicts it. I could live with it. Stoneheart was cool, but I don't know how necessary it is. We'll see.

As you say, we'll see. She's pretty superfluous so far, but the cliffhanger at the end of FfC with Brienne has the potential to be very significant for both Brienne and Jaime. I'm not really sure who else there is left who could capture brienne and make her betray Jaime, if that is what is happening. Maybe the Blackfish (which actually I would be fine with, always more blackfish needed)

Something I wanted to ask for a while: Is the Brienne/Sandor scene different in the books?

Like in the show it is assumed that Sandor is dead.

But why is it assumed so?

Because he's in the process of dying when Arya walks away from him. Festering wound.

He's left dying, but not seen die. People talk about the hound being dead later.

Three replies, and I still had to look in a wiki to find out that the Hound was left for dead after fighting two guys named Polliver and Tickler.

The fight with Polliver and Tickler happened in the show too.

We had that scene, it's the brilliant "every fucking chicken" one. But they couldn't have that put him out of action so early in the season, and needed to keep it early to consolidate Arya as a budding sociopath.

Gravedigger theory, yeah. On the Quiet Isle diggin' graves and being all tall and limpy, as mentioned hanging out in the background in a Brienne chapter. Popular bonus theory is that he comes back into the story proper via the Faith to end up fighting Robert Strong in Cersei's trial or whatever (CLEGANEBOWL GET HYPE), but eh, not sure that'll go down. But he'll be a thing again somewhere. I'd be fine with him getting a vaguely happy ending just at peace and digging his graves. The Hound is dead (Well, the legacy lives on thanks to Rorge and Lemoncloak, and may continue, but you know what I mean), but Sandor can live on blah blah.

TV show didn't have him get stabbed ninety times in the stomach so we can assume he'll get Gravedigger'd if that means that he still plays a big part later or the show will have the Quiet Isle/whatever like it. And, since we already have him meeting Brienne once, might serve to have him and her have a chat about shit on the show if they're in the same area again. If Sandor's story ends there, then it'd be a nice quiet epilogue. Again, unlikely, but still.

The ultimate point of this post is to say that if he comes back at all I don't want him anywhere fucking near Sansa so as not to give their shippers any ammunition. I'm a pretty goddamn tolerant "ship whatever you want to ship" kinda guy, but yeah no. Stay digging graves, buddy.

It's not the Hound you have to worry about anymore, but Littlefinger. The show's given them plenty of ammunition with that last scene of hers in this season, when she's coming down the stairs in that awkward sway that's supposed to be, I suppose, seductive but I just keep thinking she'll break her hip or something.

So you know the sad thing here? There people that only watch show that support a Sansa/Littlefinger thing.

    Yeah

What IS the deal with the Sansa/Hound not-kiss in the books anyway? That girl needs so much therapy if her comforting fantasies involve this guy.

I sort of thought it was just one of his failed attempts to make Sansa seem 'teenage girly'.
