I was disappointed in the sale this year. I managed to buy some Skyrims and Wolf Among Us for folks, but nothing really jumped out at me.

 

Yeah, skyrim at 75 percent off was the only real I was delighted with. Picked up Age of mythology and baldurs gate 2 also. Been having a blast with those. Berserker fighter with full feats in 2h sword is badass.

Picked up Baldur's Gate I & II EE for $11 and Insurgency for $7. Having a blast with both so far. I also picked up Frozen Synapse and They Bleed Pixels, although I haven't delved too deeply into either yet. I also got some other assorted games (M&B Complete, UT99, BF2) pretty much to play the mods. Overall, I was happy with the deals I was able to nab.

 

You also picked up echolalia...echolalia.

TBP is pretty cool. I like the art design. It made my fingers sore the first time I played it, though. It probably falls into the category we old farts call "Nintendo hard."

Is Steam downloading painfully slow for anyone else? I'd blame it on the sale increasing the traffic load, but in the past it's always been about the same speed for me during sales as in the in-between times (slow, but consistently slow - now it's abysmally slow).

It's a Logitech G700s mouse, which is fairly awesome. Normal retail is around 80-100$. These are repackaged open boxes and the price is cut in half. 60 day warranty from a big seller with 99% positive feedback, so I'm willing to take the chance and jump on this.

Sims 2 Ultimate Collection: Free to Sims 2 owners

EA is basically "retiring" Sims 2 and ending support for the game. If you have a digital copy (just the base game will do) on Origin, EA will give you a free, registered, copy of Sims 2 Ultimate Collection. This includes the base game, all of the expansions, and all of the stuff packs.

Considering this is EA, I'm kind of amazed at this nigh generous action. Then again, the game is an entire decade old (in September, which is when Sims 4 is due).

If you have a retail copy (whose serial you can't redeem on Origin), you can do a live chat with EA support and give them your serial number, and they will give you a key code for Sims 2 Ultimate Collection (they did for me).

However, they say this only applies for the next 5 days (probably fewer, by the time you read this); so, if you're going to do it, do it fast. And, don't be surprised if you have to wait an hour or more for that chat. Not only are there probably tons of retail Sims 2 owners scrambling to get codes for the collection, but there was a notice that the support was also being delayed by a typhoon...

 

Not sure if this is just for steam/PC stuff, but fuck it. Best Buy is having some black friday in July thing, and one of the things that caught my eye is a buy-one-get-one-free 3DS thing. I was thinking of using it to get A Link Between Worlds and Bravely Default, but they have other 3DS games offered as well (Pokemon X/Y, Kirby Triple Deluxe, etc).
