... and moving on, was an alright pilot, there's a good chance that the rough edges will be smoothed off. Yeah the female lead is a bit weak but I'll give the characters a bit of time to be filled out a bit before writing anyone off completely.

Not blown away but cautiously optimistic, with any luck this could develop well.

This is why I hate the Dresden Files fandom, here and elsewhere.

She's already been axed, they're going with a completely different character and actress.

Does that mean they're redoing the pilot then, or does she die in it?

They'll either kill her within a couple of episodes or just send her away on some self-discovery crap trip. Either way, I don't care she wasn't that great but on the other hand she wasn't horrible or a deal-breaker.

And I seriously doubt they would chance a re-start.

They'll write her off and I'm thinking she'll die so that constantine can be all Angsty about failing her, her dad, the kid whose soul was taken and himself.

Having no concept that a comic book would probably be older than a pretty recent book series given the comic book industry is pretty much dead is pretty offensive. You can make a pretty educated guess if you just knew that DF is a post-2000's thing.

I guess I'll have to learn to live with offending you.

It'll be hard, but I'll manage somehow.

While it's not what it was before 90-ties crash the industry is far, far from being dead, especially with the current expansion into the digital world. To give it a number the Top 300 comics sold 6.46 million copies in June 2014. In 2013 the Top 300 comics each month had sales worth $308.71 million which is: +8% vs. previous year, +17% vs. 5 years earlier, +41% vs. 10 years earlier and +49% vs. 15 years earlier. Though to put it into a perspective before the crash sales were worth more than twice as much.

I liked the pilot too. The production value wasn't bad and it had some 80s flair with real atmosphere.

You should keep regions in mind. I don't read comics because there is no comic culture here in Turkey. There was one 90 tough. So it is practically dead to me even if it is still thriving in USA.

I assumed that Xiph0 was talking about US, otherwise it's gets a lot more complicated with, for example, European comics or Japanese manga.

Interesting, guess she didn't go down well with test audiences, not sad to see her go. She did have thee most cliche'd origin story possible (forgivable if she was in the comic I suppose), plus she was a little...victimy.

Who wants to bet they get to keep her dads oh so convenient lair after her inevitable demise?

Finally got around to watching the Pilot. The story felt a little...weak. Constantine's character was absolutely amazing and humorous, but the rest felt very iffy. I'm kinda scared that this won't pick up the same following as Arrow and will be a second season cancel.

Flash at least has the hype of Arrow backing it up; Constantine is completely on its own. Wish they could have at least gotten it on Fox so it could somehow tie into Gotham lightly. The Easter Eggs won't be as great. Though...
    Dr. FATE'S HELMET!!!!

Hopefully it will really find it's stride in a few episodes otherwise I don't think it will last long. Which is kinda sad really.

Watched the revamped pilot at comic con. Pretty decent. The creator said that the assistant girl ended up being too bright-eyed and inquisitive or some such (I don't remember the exact wording but basically not gritty enough for Constantine). The character is being replaced by Zed.
