None whatsoever. If possible, I'll be skipping the Dorne scenes altogether in the show, since I suspect they'll be riddled with OC made by D&D. In terms of looks, I suppose Bashir might fit the role, once they prep him up for it. I mean, isn't Doran often described with having swollen joints or something like that?

Also, the Sand Snakes don't look good either. From what little I recall, Obara was described as a fairly big woman, big-boned if I remember it right, and here she looks so small. And that first one, that's supposed to play Nymeria, looks half-Asian.

Obviously, Oberyn, has been practicing MultiKulti.

Doran has gout, so they'll have to prop him really good for any scenes involving him. And from what I remember, his gout is so bad it's downright crippling. I think he will do well but ultimately it'll come to the show and the script writers and I don't trust them about not fuging it all to hell.

And yeah, no Arianne. That's interesting... plot-wise.

So why is no one talking about GRRM confirming that a certain character's appearing in the Winds Of Winter prologue?

Jeyne Westerling! He didn't say she's the POV character, but she's still in it. Reminder that she was last seen being escorted by Forley Prester along with Edmure Tully and headed for Casterly Rock. Or, if a certain theory is to be believed, she escaped with Blackfish. So. Either way, we've got a prologue that I certainly didn't expect. Brotherhood intervention? Might just be! Could lead to something amazing later on when Jaime and Brienne meet up with 'em again.

Because unless she's miraculously pregnant with Robb's child, no one really gives a shit about the woman who helped Robb in losing the North and his life.

Wolfsbane and that's all any Northman will ever care. Unless she's preggers.

Well I was more happy with the fact we've got a defined area for the prologue to take place and it may offer a clue as to a big story taking place in the book (GoT Prologue sets up the incoming Others thing and thus the whole series; in ACoK Cressen gives us an insight into Stannis and Mel and Davos; ASOS we get the Night's Watch mutiny foreshadow and the big damn Other and wight army the wildlings are running from; AFFC we get the Jaqen Oldtown infiltration set-up and ADWD sets up scattered wildlings thing which leads to Hardhome and the whole warg into something else post death HINT HINT) and it's still just something Winds Of Winter related at all. And hell if it's her PoV even if ends badly I'd still want to get inside her head and flesh her out some. And if not, some Lannister army PoV that isn't a Lannister? Why the fuck not!

Fuck's sake, it's something and we could, Iunno, speculate instead of dismiss it as "Yeah nobody cares about her or literally anything surrounding her or the possibilities involved". Jeebus.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the prologue PoV's tend to die in that very same chapter?

Speculate away, dude. I'm curious what your thoughts concerning Jeyne are. I can't say I'm a fan of hers, but I don't hate her or on her.

    Getting back to the show.

    Two things about Arianne:
    1. She's been cut out because she doesn't fit into the epilogue of the series(She gets George-axed).
    2. She really, really fits into the epilogue of the series but the show is diverging like woah! and she's getting cut out not to spoil the books.

    Thoughts?

Oh, I don't hate her either. I just consider the whole thing as bad business. It's not like she was the one who insisted on getting wed to Robb, the idiot did that himself.

Personally speaking, she's not much of a character, but her PoV might be somewhat noteworthy.

As far as the Arianne speculation is concerned, I think option number one is far more likely. After all, we haven't seen mention of Darkstar either.

Yeah, at this point in the story Jeyne is irrelevant while Rickon lives. Bran's a cripple north of the wall but Rickon's a healthy kid with a direwolf, something Jeyne's kid (if it even exists) won't have; by the time she might even give birth Rickon would probably be in White Harbor or something. The wolf thing is one of the several reasons I can't stand Sansa, God if she becomes Queen or something I'll blow my fucking brains out.

The wolf thing being that her own stupidity led to the death of her direwolf?

She was what? 12 or 14 when that happened, c'mon guys, let's cut her some slack here. It happened and she was still a brat then.

It's still stupid to not stand up for someone that was her own family. Especially in a world like ASoIaF. Even more stupid of Ned to kill Lady since Nymeria ran off. What kind of a fucked up logic were they going by?

By the logic of ASoIaF world. You don't mess with a future king.

It's just every Stark is/was a bad-ass except for Sansa...and Cat. She could have at least had her fucking wolf which would have given her some cred but noooooooooo. Now I read these stories, "Praise Sansa le Queen in the North!" Just no, please fucking no.

It's funny how I too cheer for Others and a good, nice Frigid Armageddon. I also cheer for Barristan killing Dany. Ashara being actually dead and not a lady in septa's robes. Zombie-Catelyn going apeshit and depopulating Riverlands. And Jon being re-named Gary-Stu.

Shit, I cheer more for Cersei than I cheer for Starks. At least her chapters are funny.

Oh yeah, Val! Can't forget the only woman with a working brain.

Personally, I keep hoping for Ashara to be alive and Jon's mother and that they actually meet one another only for Jon to completely scorn her. Family drama is my bread and butter.

Cersei does have that entertainment factor, I'll give you that.

    Also, Val best girl.
