Redwall was made into a fairly good animated series if I recall.

 

While I don't imagine The Silmarillion would work as a movie (series), a TV adaption would be interesting, perhaps with a standalone movie for particular parts like The Tale of Beren and Luthien.

Also David Weber's Honor Harrington series to movies, but that's already happening, which will be great--if it's done well.

 

Aren't they making that? With Michael Fassbender as Desmond?

I'd really like a new Dune series with Starz/HBO/Showtime with a bit of budget behind it.

Stromlight Archive TV show / movie is inevitable IMO. Maybe not for 10-15 years until the series has developed further, but yeah, it'll probably happen.

 

I know there was a crappy movie...but I'd love a better version of Alex Rider. Those books were amazing.

 

A new The Count of Monte Cristo TV series where he doesn't return to Mercedes. It's one thing that almost all adaptations feel they need to "fix". While I get why, I would like at least some of them be more faithful to the source material. And no modernizing of the setting.

Preferably done by HBO.

If an Evangelion movie ever gets made it has to be fucking flawless. It can't be some half-assed adaptation. Same with Akira.

I don't know why anyone would want Christopher Nolan anywhere near Evangelion.

I've just finished a re-read of the Matthew Swift books, and they'd make awesome tv. Who doesn't want to watch a half undead sorcerer, half embodied mystical entity rampage around London investigating his own murder, before graduating to stopping apocalyptic threats?

So I've returned to playing Heroes of Might and Magic 3 recently and I can't help but think that the series has potential for a good fantasy movie.

After all, we have a Warcraft movie in the works, why not HoMM?

In fact, Age of Mythology seems good for a movie version as well.

 

I'd like to see a STALKER film, or maybe a Roadside Picnic film which STALKER is based on. Metro 2033 while you're at it as well.

STALKER and Metro easily could be done as a TV series if you won't follow the main plot. The main plot could be done as a TV show with a lot of care.

 

Have you seen the film Stalker? It's not quite like the game STALKER but it's still a pretty neat movie. It's also on Youtube.
