As tempting as it might be to buy Civ: Beyond Earth, I just know that they're going to release a ton of dlc for it and then release a GOTY and/or a Complete Edition of it.

They will, for sure. But I'm a big fan of Civ multiplayer and it's nice to play from the beginning with others. Plus I don't think I could wait for the DLC/GOTY editions.

Nah, I knew about it. It's the fact that such restrictions even exist on HB that annoys me.

Kind of a your millage will very type thing.

A site called Bundle Stars (you might or might not already know of it) rotate in out and some amazing and not so amazing deals. Most of the time it's on games that have already been out for a while, but if you don't have them yet and at these prices it is worth checking.

    Current deals of interest include:

    Victoria Complete Collection - $4.99
    http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/victoria-complete-bundle/

    ------

    Tropico 4: Collectors Bundle - $4.99
    http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/tropico-4-collectors-bundle/

    Contains Tropico 4 + it's DLC's

    ------

    Reboot Bundle 4.0 - $2.99
    http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/reboot-bundle-4/

If you are interested in the first 3 Tropico's, than this bundle is a steal at $2.99. It's also got some decent games also thrown into the mix.

    ------

The RPG Champions Bundle - $4.99
    http://www.bundlestars.com/all-bundles/rpg-champions-bundle/

They have had this bundle up forever now. It's got Two Worlds 1 & 2 & TW2's lone DLC. It's also got Septerra Core, Enclave, and Gorky 17

EvE online has a 50% discount on steam - one which sadly doesn't work for extending an account in use, nor can you link it with any trial accounts.

As I'm currently trying to get the most of a trial account to see if I want to give the game a longer chance, it's sad that I can't make use of the steam deal (since referral account gives the referee a months worth of free playtime if the referred person upgrades to full account, I could split pay with a friend effectively achieving the same discount - but the point could be to have a linked, convenient steam account) but if someone wants to try the game out, its as good of a chance as any.

So far, I've been failing horribly, but it's a fun game.

    Now that's a good deal.

Anyone that's a fan of CKII or EU4 owes it to themselves to give this game a go. The interface might be a bit backwards, but the depth of the game more than makes up for it.

Oh my. EVE. Yeah EVE attracts different kinds of players but often times dont hold on to them. It holds on to a certain type of gamer.

EVE is a game where unless you find friends or are playing with friends things can rapidly get very boring very quickly. PVE is essentially, fly here, lock targets from kms away and poosh button till they explode.

PVP, or Null Sec can arguably be worse if you're part of a company that is there to support the larger war machine, aka miner corps. Sometimes you're called up to fight but most times its hurry up and wait.

Also unless you bought a character you are going to run into the wall that all players learn.

That the skills are in real time.

And that you an only train one at a time.

Not so bad when its like 1 min or 30 or a couple of hours.

    But try DAYS. WEEKS.

EVE is only a game in which i would play if i was retired and/or a shit ton of free time. Its a massive time sink if you dont want to shell out 15 bucks for a second job.

Humble Store has Medieval II Total War for a dollar. It's apparently been on for a few hours, but it's only 45 minutes left.

I just found out about this yesterday, basically they sell CD keys, which you can redeem on steam, origin etc. Even brand new games can be bought for like half price!

I wish I could have known about this years ago.

Eh many of those key shops are super dodgy. They either sell stolen keys or resell ones from another region.

In either case the end result is that the dev reports the keys to steam and they get pulled from your account. And good luck getting your money back from those sites.
