Well Kakashi was inside of a jutsu at the time. It stands to reason that the chakra in the jutsu could have stopped Kakashi from seeing chakra outside the jutsu. It would be similar to the chakra in the hidden mist jutsu stopping the sharingan from finding the user, by their chakra, in the mist.

 

Ehhh, that's stretching things almost as severely as just saying that a henge temporarily alters one's chakra enough to fool the Sharingan/Rinnegan/etc, and is less supported by canon. Also, it's important to take into account that Naruto and Sasuke are both packing incredibly strong, incredibly vague powerups right now. We know that Sasuke can see pretty much everything as well as ultra-kawarimi (he's Trickster), and we know that Naruto can heal pretty much everything as well as fly.

Aside from that? Buh.

 

I don't see Zabuza's jutsu as blocking the sharingan's ability to see chakra as too much of a stretch. The sharingan sees chakra as color. Being inside a jutsu would be like looking through tinted glass. The glass would compromise your ability to see other colors.

 

Had an argument today with someone who HONESTLY thinks that every part of Naruto was pre-planned and outlined and foreshadowed. That nothing was made up on the spot to cover Kishi's ass when he wrote himself into the corner and that Naruto itself is a great story who most people don't appreciate cause they aren't 'paying enough attention.'

But then, he's read the entire manga 15+ times, so I think perhaps he's just obsessed and trying to justify his obsession.

Honestly, where do people get this shit?

 

I think part 1 was planned out. Part 2 on the other hand... I think Kishi drank/blazed a bit too much while watching DBZ for part 2.

But yeah, Part 1 was obviously planned out. Part 2...not so much, no.

 

Part 1 was very coherent. Most of Part 2 less so, but still planned well enough. I feel that things only went into complete horseshit territory when Kishi lost his sense of scale in the World War Arc.

In some ways, the manga could have should have ended with Naruto's victory over Nagato. It would have made a million times the thematic sense. It wraps up the Akatsuki plotline, which was ultimately driving the manga. We finally see that Naruto has in him the potential to bring peace to the Ninja World.

But of course that would be too neat for Kishi. RINNEBYAKUSHARINGAN AHOY

 

Not all that neat considering all the loose plot threads that would be left hanging around. I wouldn't have minded a Naruto vs Nagato finale but it'd have to be pushed back to deal with the other remnants of Akatsuki and Sasuke. And I'd still have liked a Fourth Shinobi War, just without all the Madara/Obito/Kaguya/Shinju* insanity.

*Edit: And Zetsu. One (or two halves of one) was more than enough.

 

Except ending it there still left some loose ends.

I agree that toppling Nagato should have ended things, but if you just cut things off there, it still doesn't do much good.

The way Part 2 should have gone was like this:

Naruto returns.
Gaara Retrieval Arc.
4 Tailed Naruto vs Orochimaru
Sasuke thwarts Orochimaru
Fight with Kakuzu & hidan
Sasuke fights Itachi, Orochimaru escapes
Sasuke learns of the Coup, and Danzo's machinations.
Danzo tries to take over Konoha, fails.
Danzo and Oro team up.
Kabuto does his thing and backstabs everybody, joins up with Akatsuki
Konoha regroups, decides it's high time they got fucking rid of Orochimaru and Danzo.
Battle Royale between Konoha, Team OroDanzo, and Team Hawk, with maybe a couple of the remaining Akatsuki members joining in.
Naruto and Sasuke duke it out - Naruto wins, drags Sasuke back home.
At the same time, mirroring that fight, Jiraiya & Oro fight eachother.
Akatsuki moves on Killer Bee, he wrecks their shit and sends em packing
Akasuki realizes they need to step up and start planning - and hey, one of their members has had past success hypnotizing the leader of one the five major hidden villages. They take over Kiri, absorb the remnants of Team OroDanzo and start recruiting some of the smaller villages.
Jiraiya investigates that shit, fights Pein, dies.
Naruto, if he hasn't already, learns Sage Mode.
The other villages are kind of alarmed at the power being amassed by Akatsuki, and in an unlikely turn of events, team up. Except, not really, because they're all eyeing eachother for weaknesses and are just as likely to take out their 'allies' as they are Akatsuki.
4th Shinobi World War - no ridiculous power creep
Final battle, Gai vs Kisame, Sasuke vs Kabuto-on-roids, Sakura vs Konan (Because hey, she's not useless here!) Killer Bee vs Mei (who is working for Akatsuki because they've taken of kiri) Tenzo or Tsunade vs Zetsu, Naruto vs Pein.

Oh, and Tobi is still Obito, who's just plain fucking crazy and joined up with Akatsuki because he kind of believes in the Peace thing, but ultimately is just angry at the world and Kakashi and Konoha in particular. How he lived will probably still be bullshit, but it won't be fucking madara hax brainwash shenanigans.

^because in my mind, that sounds epic as fuck. Maybe I'll even write this out one day as an alternative 'part 2.'

 

For a while now, I've thought it'd have been pretty cool if they'd done that with the Land of Iron. At the Kage Summit, the Gokage realise they've just walked into the greatest trap in history as the entire samurai legion turns against them. Then you've got a war against Akatsuki, the samurai and all the minor villages (chiefly, the fanatical Amegakure) that have spent the last century being shat on by the Five Great Shinobi Countires.

 

I believe you just came up with a wonderful idea for a Naruto fic with which you will be able to ease the pain of
