Your answers amount to "he's a politician". Nothing you say makes him a good politician. A good peace time Minister would have the political capital, cunning and popular support to shape political pressure himself, not be subject to it.

 

Well I'm not saying he actually was a good politician. I'm just searching for that particular fic.

 

Number 1 and 2 are excellent reasons, but 3 is outstretching it by far. A dangerous, irrational by all formal accounts, animal harms gravely a 13 yo student. No one on Eartth could reasonably expect to save tht bird.

 

The point is that the process governing execution procedure is corrupt and Fudge doesn't care to correct it because those hurt by it lack political influence.

 

These are two different things. Enough derailment.

 

Is there some good/decent fic about an OC? Normally I am the one who hates new characters the most, but I would like to see someone completely new take on Hogwarts.
Preferably the time after/before canon.

 

Marauder-era OC fic, multiple PoV (though OC is primary). Fairly funny, good characterizations, eventually has something resembling a plot.

 

Read a bit in to that, but it doesn't appeal to me that much. I am searching maybe for a little more focus on the magical side. Maybe post canon with a new character who is interested in magic? Don't want to specify to much.

 

Don't forget his head in the sand approach when things started to shift from peace time to war time.

 

Ishag, Children of Darkness: Dark beginnings By The Dark Dragen. Theres lots of near rape and other graphic stuff,but its the only oc centered fic i like and its one of my favorites. Also do people on dlp Hate The dark dragen or...?

 

I'm not sure if we hate on them, tweaky, but I didn't need to look at his stories to know they were shit. I just looked at his profile. Then I looked at his stories and confirmed that they were indeed shit.

That said, I don't claim to speak for all of DLP.

So, I've just found the gem that is Albus Dumbledore summoning a Hero from another world/dimension and not getting what he wanted. How could I've missed that for so long?!

Anyone have some funny recommendations for that setup? Maybe featuring a Chaos Space Marine, a Sith, or some other ridiculously overpowered character. Doesn't need to be of decent quality, as long as I can read the sentences without getting eye cancer.

 

Fighting without a cause by toastie is a guilty pleasure, it's 30+chapters and around 170k+ words

 

I just finished Vitam Paramus. When I reviewed it about a year ago, I don't think I really gave it a chance, but after making it past the opening chapters, it really started to grow on me and I enjoyed it a lot. So now I'm searching for other stories in that same line. The story manages to incorporate quidditch without actually going into intense scrutiny of every play, and that's what I'm looking for - mostly the life style that revolves around it, post-hogwarts stuff. I'll probably read anything as long as it's not hp/hr or heavy hp/gw!supercouple.

 

That's actually not a bad story so far. Good time waster, at the least. It's written by that Endless7 guy, which I didn't realise until two chapters in. They've done a few other Quidditch stories, as well as that Harry/Fleur story 'Letters'.
