Maybe. But they were all trained warriors and angelic beings. You'd expect them to be more up to the task than four hobbits whose previous concerns amounted to smoking, stealing pumpkins and holding dinner parties.

 

The Naruto manga tried to be too many things:

It tried to be about a ninja world

It tried to be about a world where friendship and niceness prevails

It tried to be about people who work hard succeeding

It tried to be about forging your own path and change your destiny

It tried to be about saviors who were born to be messiahs and save the world

It tried to be about forgiveness and redemption

It tried to be about decade, if not century long conflict between parties

It tried to be about teamwork

It tried to be about people kicking ass solo as unstoppable fighting machines

The problem with those is, many of them were forced on the same character and they are incompatible with each other. Naruto tried to be both, the talentless gutsy boy who worked hard to succeed but at the same time was an unparalleled genius saviour, born to absolve the world of its sins. It really clashes.

Similarly, we have the Neji arc where Naruto shows Neji that fate can be fought only to later realize, he was born to do what he does, prophesy and all. Neji wasn't wrong per se, he was just wrong to say that it was his fate to lose. Naruto's fate was it to win, so, Naruto never defied fate or created his own path. He just didn't know what his path was.

Lee, as likeable as he is, still hasn't really won a fight on his own, hard work made him strong, yeah, but does his strength matter?

A lot of these points also go into each other way too fast. Decade long conflict is resolved relatively fast without going into it. Gaara's redemption was well handled, even if we didn't see it as much as I would have liked but yeah, going from serial killer to leader of the village, not that far of a stretch in a world where his strength is needed. But then you have things like the tailed beasts, the ninja alliance, the sage and his children. Orochimaru is also back and we will see how that and Sasuke work out.

Moral dilemmas and stuff like that, like with Pain, questions to which there are no easy or any answers Naruto just says "I've got this" and people roll with it. Death is undone and I am honestly counting on Neji coming back. So, yeah, sacrifice isn't really in there, which once again clashes with the worlds setting of a ninja world.

Teamwork also got thrown out of the window fast, once people became dragonball characters. Yeah, Kishi tried to shoehorn a bit of teamwork into things in the end fight but really, it felt more forced than anything. Sakura didn't really need to be there.

Concepts introduced early on in the manga were abandoned later on.

Just some of the flaws that came to mind.

 

That sad moment when you realize Minato died on Naruto’s birthday. Twice.

 

That awkward moment when you just don't have any fucks to give anymore. Every chapter.

You know what would be an ultimate troll by Kishi and a befitting conclusion to Sasuke's douchebaggery?
Naruto letting Sasuke live but destroying his eyes. Not taking his eyes, but destroying the sharingan. Worse fate than death for Sasuke.

 

Amusingly there would be a small theoretical possibility of it. I mean assuming Naruto has not lost his sage given abilities, we know that Naruto CAN regrow eyes, so destroying one in this battle to help himself is actually plausible. He can always regrow the eye later afterall.

 

There is still Obito's massive sharigan stockpile that never came into relevance as well.

 

I feel like an Avataresque ending with Naruto somehow sealing Sasuke's abilities is about the best we can hope for at this point.

 

Would have to destory his eyes and his balls, so that he can't train up a kid to be the next insane Uchiha bent on destroying the world.

 

Would have to completely seal his power. Obito showed that you can turn regular eyes into Sharingan. Madara showed you can izanagi yourself back from the dead ages later.

I thought that last picture you posted was Sai. This new one is certainly Sasuke.

 

Sasuke still has his Sharingan. Pity.

This is my headcanon. Fuck Even-more-of-a-jock!Naruto.

 

It just occured to me that where Pain had trouble containing the Nine Tails with Planetary Devastation when it was only using 8 tails, Sasuke managed, without lifting a finger, to imprison all nine Bijuu, in their corporeal forms, and not shed not a drop of sweat.

If anyone ever asks me again why I insist that Kishi must love himself some Uchiha cock, I'll show them that chapter.

1. Sasuke's far more powerful than Nagato. It's been clear for a while that Nagato was an incredibly weak Rinnegan user. He even implied it while fighting Naruto. Nagato needed, I think, three days and like 9 other S class shinobi to extract and seal the one tails. Madara caught and sealed all 9 bijuu in 2 minutes with one Rinnegan. Sasuke's clearly much stronger than that version of Madara.

2. Sasuke caught all the bijuu in a genjutsu before he imprisoned them thus they can't break free. The comparison doesn't make sense.
