DA2 had good characters, I thought, but they didn't seem to become as fully fleshed out as the DA:O characters. Or they were just ruined by something retarded in the story (*cough*Meredith and Orsino*cough*). Maybe it's better to say they had good character ideas that went unrealized.

The only characters that I'm positive that I saw are Hawke and Morrigan. Honestly, I don't think I want my Warden from DA:O to make a showing; at least as a playable character. I was an evil bastard in that one.

I don't think I saw The Warden. Fairly sure Alistair appeared, though. (The blonde guy in the fur coat) Hawke....maybe? I think I saw his trademark armor appear. Morrigan was definitely in there, but that's old news.

Honestly, i'm with Jarsha. Having The Warden appear would just overshadow the new guy a bit. I AM expecting some mentions of him/her, though.

Saw Hawke I'm pretty sure, I'm in doubt if the blonde is Alistair or Cullen. Noce trailer, but someone has been playing Dark Souls... But did I hear that right? The Yellow One? Nah, I it's not that.

Hawke shouldn't appear! My Hawke is too busy sailing around the Thedas seas ploughing his Pirate Queen to worry about some little squabble between these little groups!

I would far rather have a limited number of good romances than have every possible option thrown up in the air. I'd also like it if there was some tangible benefit to not romancing someone, whether in the form of additional dialogue, character development, or twin teen dwarf hookers you can purchase for your mighty castle.

Got the same feeling, but I might make one male and female, it was fun in DAII so who knows. But ir's better than the bi-fest that was DAII, preferences and everything adds a lot of realism to the romance.

Here's a novel idea (for Bioware, at least): can the romances and just make a good game.

    Oh wait.

Storytelling can contain many elements that are only tangentially related to the main plot while still being important and possibly necessary for the enjoyment of the consumer. In the same vein adding romance (or even just allowing room for it) can and often does add more texture and dimensionality to the narrative of the game by presenting options for growth and change on a personal and spiritual level. If Bioware is overenthusiastic in its attachment to romantic relationships to the point of the destruction of the narrative then obviously there should be an attempt to recalculate their objectives. I do not however think that such an attachment has caused much, if any, distortion of the narrative in any of the previous Bioware titles that I can think of.

I like strong women. I like short hair. I just hope Cassandra isn't annoying.

I haven't watched the movie featuring her. Is it any good?

You are right that some of the romance options were not that realistic but I find it refreshing that such a major game (series) allows for options other than the typical male/female setting and portrays characters that differ from the normal stereotypes.

Edit: And I believe that for a game like DA, which heavily focuses on character interaction/exploration, romance is a necessary and important part.

Dat face and the angle it's tilted at look horrible. That bow is a travesty of the highest order.

She's walking right into the fire like an idiot. Or is she hopping away? I can't even tell.

The fuck kind of bow is that, it's like they couldn't decide if they wanted to give her a basket-hilted sword or a bow and just decided "fuck it, we'll do both."

Also, she's holding the bowstring so that her arm is in the way and she can't possibly draw it back, and the arrows in the quiver don't look quite right either - the tail ends look too pointy.

I'm hardly an expert, but wouldn't that hilt send the arrow off at an angle?
