Yeah, some of his stories are decent compared to the average ffn story, and he does complete most of them, so you can rely on it to be a decent time-waster. The only really problem is the tendency to just meander for chapters without anything of significance happening, but that's sort of what I'm looking for right now, just casual world-building.

 

Yeah, I just finished it. Last few chapters in particular have been a bit unfocused, save one or two bits. The romance isn't exactly the best out there, and some of the Harry/Gabrielle interaction just feels...weird. Mainly because of the way HP is acting despite G having a boyfriend.

I've been hoping that the portkey mystery is going to go somewhere, but I'm getting more and more convinced that it was just a way for the author to write the story they wanted to write without having to deal with certain characters. There's still time for that to change though, so who knows.

I don't know if the portkey thing is going anywhere. I mostly just assumed that it was Plot Reason #1. Then again, we randomly hear mention of the dolohov massacre in like chapter 17, with an apparant weight that it's supposed to be important. 17 chapters is a long time to go without even hinting at something, but here we are now. Also, there is a thread for this story in the recycling bin

 

You mean that species of magical creature that requires you to bow before you approach them? That is noted for it's pride and loyalty?

Maybe you should refresh yourself on the wiki before you talk about a magical species that has a clear code of acceptable behavior and call it "dangerous, irrational".

 

Anything new that's unusual, or is so out of the "usual types" of fics that it stands out?

 

This has got to be the most unusual fanfiction I've ever read. Similar to riccochet, in that it's cast of Naruto in modern day except... There's differences.

Most of The Carnivorous Muffin's fics are highly unusual. I suggest you give Lily and the art of being Sisyphus a try.

I never said the fics were any good , just that they are unusual. I can't think of any other author with a similar writing style.

Plus the author actually updates regularly . His/her fics may not be classics , but they are decent time wasters.

 

I like them well enough.

 

And dogs are noted for their loyalty and caring. But they still get put down, don't they? And then izard world is noted again and again for behaving unlike any other human beings, not falling for bad press and such, and also their collective deep understanding of all magical creatures.

 

Are there any good/readable Harry/Pansy or Harry/Cho fics?

 

As far as Harry/Pansy is concerned look up the following (some of it is quite smutty, some of it contains detestable background pairings, but if you can peddle on through, I think you'll enjoy those particular fics nonetheless):
