Atum: Town. He's been helpful, posting regularly, and alerted me to the near-hammer on Citrus. Haven't felt any scumvibes from him, though my attention has been mainly on Citrus for a while now. I should go back through and re-read from the beginning to compare on him, same on DW.

Doctor Whooves: Need to double-check his posts to lay a confident opinion, but he doesn't seem to be leaning too far in any one direction from what I remember in this moment.

 

Fonti can you point out some specific examples?

Zenzao, why didn't you post your reason for the vote on Titus until asked? Seems odd.

Rubicon, what do you make of this? The speed in which the lynch has flipped is making me somewhat paranoid.

Okay, thank you. I'm in between assignments right now and have a couple days to reread this thread. Much of the early discussion centers around you, and I'm trying to sort through it.

In #22, you suggest that some element of Sloth's play is a 'front to mask other scum behavior'. I think you've moved past this line of inquiry now, but could you elaborate on what you meant at the time? The potential slip you pointed out was him talking for TerRaine, using the word 'we'. How does this mask behavior? Like, give me a possible behavior and how it would mask it, or correct me if I'm misinterpreting you.

The other thing I'm puzzled by is your explanation that you misread Sloth in a previous game, therefore you are hesitant to jump to conclusions about him here. You do go out of your way to not straight up call him scum for the possible slip, but at the same time… what you're saying is that you thought he was scummy in a previous game where he was town and mislynched him, and don't trust yourself to read him correctly here. So why is your first action in the game focusing on something scummy he did and calling attention to it?

I don't know if that fits, but I am still wrapping my head around the game (and have only read seriously up through page 10).

This is really sketchy. blab thinks covering bases is scummy, but… it's like he looked at the phrase 'cover all my bases' and declared base-covering SCUMMY! without looking at the post in question. Because it was obvious that Whooves meant he wanted to answer the question in detail, because he probably assumed blab had a good reason to ask. (Which he didn't, apparently.)

blab is the one who initiated the conversation about Whooves' post and should have read it in detail, so that is inconsistent.

(As a sidebar: Whooves' seems to be heavily implying that he did not get his first choice for alignment, and thinks it may be because of flavor. He says that he put mafia as his third choice, but does not specify what his first choice was. Assuming that is true at all, he could have chosen third party and ended up town, or vice versa.)

Zenzao: First thing that comes to mind is a townie that just really wants to live. His posts seem carefully crafted to me, which I'd normally attribute more to scum, but his tone is very obviously concilliatory and doesn't have the subtlety I usually read as scum trying to save their own skin. Also I seem to have made the unconscious decision to try to keep him alive and I have absolutely no idea why.

Whoovesy: I'm going to look back to check but his play reminds me of my first game here, wherein I was town. The care he took to answer blab's question points to that I think, he's definitely actively trying to look town though. Almost a null read, but lean-town. In a scum!Citrus world, this would move to a significant scum read especially given his stated lack of experience as scum.

Unrelated:
I'm against a third-party lynch, especially Citrus, because I think the flip after D1 has good potential to provide useful information for scumhunting and townclearing through interactions and it seems like a waste to lynch a neutral. Unless there is a real case for a scum fake!claim.

Unless the majority of the scum team has fake!claimed 3rd party I think it's safe to assume this game has a fair number of 3rd party players. Given the vast plethora of possible roles 3rd party anyone who want to shift attention away from them is suicidal. Or scum.

Yes scumhunting is of utmost importance. But searching for SK tells? Or poking for possible game enders? Tell me that isn't of equal importance.

The believability of Math's claim was inverse to the number of claimed third parties. When Math was the sole one? Some kind of overpowered game balancer/ender. The more third parties reveal themselves however (as well as their abilities) the more likely it is that Math is what she says she is. A fun role. Does it have balance elements? Probably. Should she be kept in everyone’s collective attention? Definitely. Should she be lynched on lying/failing to keep us updated? Absolutely. But she isn’t Day 1 Lynch material anymore. What we would get from it isn’t worth the potential scum lynch.

I never said it did. I simply said it got me hung up. That my heart wasn’t in it. That’s all there is to it.

Titus, I am the first of the two of us to be suspicious of you...mostly because of your quick town clear of one player who is on my wagon and then your quick "no lynchie the suspicious 3rd party" orange. Citrus and you have buddied so much, it's amazing.

See, I like certain players so I'm friendlier or jokier towards them but if they felt like scum they would be murderized.

Early interaction with blab is weird, even by RVS standards. Like the lowest of lowball questions ‘do you think people having role preferences will affect their assignment?’ ‘Do you think people who enjoy scum would play scum?’ etc. Personal inclusion about how he definitely isn’t scum rings a little weird.


Citrus calling him out on buddying Snow, but completely not mentioning the above (from what I saw) is strange. Unless I missed something, having an aligned pair amongst those three would not surprise me.


Early pressure on Citrus was good though I got the feeling it declined in intensity along with the overall thread pressure. The blatant info digging on fonti for item/ability clues was odd as well.

Kalas- I don't really see anything odd about the phrasing, although asking about Aek when he hasn't posted for a while seems pointless.

I'm waiting on Fonti's TLDR for a Titus lynch, because honestly I'm not seeing it. A lot of people have spoken out against a Citrus lynch for various reasons, but nobody is really offering an alternative that looks any better.

Oh and Fonti.. rewarding MB for being the first third party to claim is like... really irrelavant. Like who gives a fuck that she claimed first, she still isn't town, and her wincon can change to a degree that can fuck us over. Something she admitted.
