So the Naruto manga ends in 5 weeks apparently.

So we have 5 chapters left - a few of which will probably be double length or full color or something.

5 chapters of pointless talk/fighting, followed by an announcement of the sequel?

 

Welp that settles it, I will stick around till the end of it. It will probably be a disappointing ending, but, it just might be good. Either way I'm going to see the end of this ride.

I've been reading this since Naruto was actually a ninja.

As much hate as I've given the manga here near the end, it does kinda make me nolstagic and emotional to see it finally end. It is the end of an era I believe. Soon One Piece and Bleach will have their final arcs and the Trinity will be no more....until the cash grabbers start the next parts...but anyways. I salute you Kishimoto. I hate your style for the crap here at the end, but you've kept me reading for eight years..so I guess that's something...

 

I have been watching and reading the Manga for a very long time. Well I await the end because the journey has been good only very bumpy towards the end there.

 

I believe I began reading since around the time Tobi was hinted to be the real man behind the power of Akatsuki. Something about Nagato and Konan meeting him in secret in Amegakure. So not as long as you guys but still a decent chunk of the last several years.

 

I started reading the manga when Shippuden started and those damn fillers kept appearing.

 

I've been following since I was in elementary school. Since I was about..8, I believe? Basically right when the anime came out in Japan. Man, it's been 12 years...

For as much shit that we give Kishimoto, it's got to say something about him and the world he's created to have kept people reading for so long. Even with all the hiccups along the way, the loads and loads of frustration, I still think it's been a fun ride.

The series may come to an end, but may the fandom never die.

 

I feel for the people who get recommended the top three right now it's too much too watch/read through.

 

I'm surprised that the Naruto/Sasuke rematch that has been on the books basically for all of Part 2 is going to get so little time to play out, nevermind any epilogue content. So much that I can't help but wonder if Naruto is getting the axe and Kishimoto is having to rush the ending now. That would be a shame, considering how long the series has gone and how much money its made for Jump.

I dropped the series sometime during the war (I believe when all the Hokages came back to life and just decided to become all accepting and buddy-buddy with a pair of traitors). I don't regret that decision and from the general commentary in this thread it doesn't seem as though I have any reason to have regretted it, but I'd like to see it at least end properly.

Been reading Naruto for around ten years and yeah, it is a bit weird that it's going to end, even if my initial thought was "thank god". Yeah, it has been crap for a few years but I have probably read more Naruto fanfiction than most people have read books. So, yeah, despite all the major flaws that have plagued Naruto since the beginning but that have become a major problem pretty much since the timeskip, it has provided us with so many stories and so much fun, I am going to be sad that the series stopping will mean a drop in produced fanfiction.

Horrible as the new stuff was, it did provide writers with characters, places, clans, families, names and techniques to use in fanfiction, as well as the draw of new writers who got sucked in by seeing that people talking about it, something that might not happen as much anymore.

Kishi did create an amazing world that has drawn a lot of people in, made them write their own stories in his world, which I believe is to be the biggest compliment one can give to an author. The characters, flawed or underutilized as they might be, are still memorable and for the most part likeable. Heck, Kakashi is one of the best characters overall and several concepts that Kishi introduced were ridiculously cool. Handseals, Sharingan, jutsu, bloodline limits and all.

Cheers, Kishimoto. For all the flag I've given Naruto, can't deny it is one of my favorites.

That said, Sasuke Naruto fight still sucks in the new chapter =P

What the fucking fuck you faggots? We just witnessed some of the most OP shit in the series be thrown against the rest of the OP shit in the series instead of useless fodder. Giant-ass Susanoo Sasuke vs giant-ass Fox Naruto. What is more awesome than that?

This chapter was amazing. This fight is amazing. The only thing that could ruin the awesomeness of such an awesome 1v1 would be a lame, passive conclusion to it.

 

We have seen tons of OP fights in the manga. I honestly can't think of any that have ended in one or two chapters. An entire story about Sasuke and Naruto angst over their first fight and it concludes with a love tap. This really has been a lame conclusion.

 

I sincerely hope that was sarcasm. Apart from those ever-present cringeworthy dialogs, the fight is everything that went wrong with this manga. Sasuke starts the fight with the Grand Fireball Technique, a jutsu from the very beginning. How does Naruto react? He goes into whatever-mode instead of fucking dodging. Next panel you have Godzilla versus a Power Ranger Megazord. Fuck this manga, the only reason I'm still reading is because of routine.

 

It has become a Power Ranger endbattle, only Power Rangers was never this corny and that's saying something.

 

I'm not impressed with the fight so far. The only really interesting thing was Sasuke's susanoo using chidori. They should be causing at least as much destruction as Hashirama and Madara. Hopefully they get serious next chapter.

It would be hilarious in a crackish way if the Great Sage Toad's prophecy came true and they both ended up killing each other without releasing the IT. Kakashi's just stuck alone with Sakura.
