I agree. The grammar and spelling are ok, but the actual writing is atrocious. No imagination whatsoever or creativity. A very bland and annoying style.

A really stupid thing to ask, but I'm confused. Isn't porn both singular and plural? And if that is the case, should it not read "they were good porn without plot"?

I don't mean to be a Grammar Nazi dick here, I'm just curious. English often confuses me. It's not my first language.

 

I think porn, like money and furniture is uncountable, meaning it's always referred to in the singular.(unless you use "pieces" or something is front of it.)

I do enjoy that this is a website where someone posting porn can devolve into a discussion about the proper pluralization of "porn."

 

Why were you surprised by that when in the first two paragraphs we see Fleur talking about resisting her 'Veela nature' with success, and then somehow after some years of being married to Bill, she lets it loose? She's clearly not capable of walking the talk.

Hi. I'm new here, but I was reading this thread and decided to join to share my thoughts.

I tried reading Nightmares and Lie, but both of them just rubbed me the wrong way. I think my favourite Harry/Fleur fic is Deprived. It has some problems, the most unfortunate of which is probably the fact that it uses the whole "brother is the BWL and Harry was neglected" cliche, but I found the characters and story really interesting. That being said, I'd like to here your thoughts on it.

 

Fic that originated with potential, but careered into a (writer writing him/herself into a) corner from which there's little hope of escaping the moment the dragon became a bloody pet.

And, it may just be me, but this comes across an awful lot like an "I'm the author and haven't read much about my story here." Anyone get that vibe?

I realize that this thread has been inactive for a long time, but since Harry/Fleur is my favorite pairing I figured this was as good a place as any to post. Since most stories on fanfiction.net are shit, are there any good Harry/Fleur stories anywhere else? Just Harry/Fleur, no harems, no polygamous relationships, no soul bonds.
