I managed to miss it, even though it's the sole reason I'm still up. What happened?

 

Colbert acted like an Anti GG stereotype of a gamer. Played along with Anita, used a brief clip from Dragon age to drive a point home, mocked the ethics thing and then moved on.

There was applause.

I know it's a comedy show. But dammit, at least try to hide your bias.

Edit: I never thought there would be a day I would be on the other side of the Colbert Report...it's not fun.

 

Whelp, Colbert is dead to me. I'll watch the bit tomorrow on some website, and probably ignore the man in all future media.

Which is a shame, 'cause the dude made me laugh, and I was kinda looking forward to seeing what he would be like on the tonight show.

 

There was a small victory in that Anita couldn't even name three female protagonists when asked, but the peanut gallery pretty much drowned that out.

It happens. Take it as a learning experience. I still find Colbert funny. Then again, South Park mocked me as a liberal faggot years ago, and I sent a remarkably embarrassing email to Warren Ellis one time when shithoused drunk, so I'm just a bit desensitized by now.

A major (left-leaning) media outlet doesn't do any actual research and immediately sides with Anti-GG, because obviously when women start whining about muh soggy knees and hurt feelings they have to be in the right. This is totally new.

Honestly, I'm more pissed that he clearly didn't do any fucking research. Still, funny or not, I can't tolerate shit like that. I never really watch TV anyway, so this doesn't really cost me anything except "Huh, there's an asshole I'm not gonna watch again". Pretty much just watched episode online, for background noise. Same with all of those news sites. I practically never used them, now it's become literal.

Is this all of it? I didn't see anything from dragon age. Also, it was three games objectifying women that she couldn't think of. Colbert said their were games with female MCs, and it was just ignored. Also found it interesting that he noted she brought a posse, and all the cheering came from the same side of the audience.

I actually have fewer problems with this then I was thinking it would be, but still, fuck Colbert.

 

I'm listening to KoP ranting right now, it helps me wind down since I'm a little mad, but there should be a clip where they show the elf characters tutorial story where the corrupt noble came around looking for women to sleep with. It's a short clip and is completely out of context.

 

Yeah, a depiction of a despicable cretin in a game. The horror.

 

Woa...what? They took the Alienage Elf scene and spinned it that way? That's ridiculous!

A part of me thinks that Bioware should be outraged and protest that, but then another part of me wonders if they support that. Everything I've seen indicates that Bioware at least leans anti-GG. I know Gaider definitely is....

The founder of 8chan, whose website is hosting a big part of the gg movement is moving out of the country and before he left he and others that came from around the country decided to have a party.

 

I meant the article. How is this news? How does something like that even get published?

Not understanding Colbert hate. South Park destroyed or mocked all of my convictions multiple times, pissed on what I believed and I love them for it. They make me revise or reassure my beliefs, they challenge me to rise up and are hilarious doing it.

Sarkeesian is a major hypocrite to call fo CancelColbert and appearing on it, both just for attention and let's face it, any major company that hires her for a major game is shooting itself. Colbert is a political comedian, and yes, he does form minds, but who cares about GG won't rely on him for it.

And yeah, I love DA to death, all times fav, but the rape part was gratuitous (rape for Drama as TV Tropes say it) and I really disliked how the whole Shianni affair was handled. Fem City Elf was kickass though.
