It was technically pre-Ragnarok, but it was also the first link in the chain of events that led directly to Ragnarok, so I tend to lump them together.

 

With Mirror Mirror in mind... What do you reckon alterna!Dresden would do about Marcone. Kill him or work more closely with him?

 

Dresden's always seen Marcone as the lesser of possible evils - he keeps a lid on collateral damage, for example, and if he was gone, any potential replacement might make things worse.

My guess is a GreaterGood!Dresden would work closely with Marcone to clean up Chicago and consolidate power... then quietly take him out.

A simply Evil!Dresden would take out Marcone first thing just to inspire chaos and instability in the criminal and supernatural worlds.

You're missing an important point of this story idea. In the Mirror Mirror universe, everyone is different.

 

Is it? I thought it was a universe where one significant event had changed, not a completely different one, like in that HP universe where everyone's genderbent.

Ah, my mistake then. In that case I'm betting that Harry took Marcone's offer in Storm Front or perhaps that he never killed Justin DuMorne.

 

We know that the point of divergence is a different choice made in Grave Peril. Which one though is still a mystery.

 

In that case, bets that Harry doesn't try to use Amoracchius to fight the Nightmare.

TL;DW: The choice that is different is from the end of Grave Peril. The alternate Dresden summons the other Dresden in order to kill him so that he can fake his own death.

My bet is something related to Susan.

 

I will say it again: he died doing the right thing. Didn't work out as bianca wanted but that is the one I bet on. He lets lydia die

 

My first thought was that he killed Susan to prevent her from suffering, or made some sort of peace with Bianca to avert the war that he regretted.

 

No war then means the red court gets to attack from a stronger position. Or that the wizards strike first. Could be cool.

 

Grave Peril Dresden trying to kill the Dresden from the normal timeline would be comical in my opinion. Current Dresden, even without the winter mantle would just destroy him.

 

Oh God. Could you imagine two Harrys working together? Whatever universe they share would explode by dint of the combined awesome.

 

Sorry, to clarify, this is set a number of years later (I'd assume the same year).

 

Though let it be said that, depending on what the One Choice(tm) actually was, that statement would still hold true. If, for example, the Choice was something that led to peace with the vampires for whatever reason, then Mirror!Dresden wouldn't have had a decade of living through a war to hone him, which makes one hell of a difference.

I mean, it's probable that, should Mirror!Dresden try to kill Real!Dresden, then Mirror!Dresden will almost certainly be a top-tier threat, because Butcher gets off on Real!Dresden's suffering, but there's still a significant chance that he'll fail to measure up.
