That was underwhelming. First the names: Salad, Bolt? Really... Then the Chocolate kid... what. Fat Anko? Why oh god why?

ChojixKarui stumped me. It's a pairing I've never even thought about.

 

JK and Kishimoto should have gotten together a while ago. JK could give naming advice and Kishimoto could have told her how to write an epilogue.

 

I actually like that Choji and Kiba (maybe, not sure who that girl was) were the ones that didn't settle with a childhood friend. Pairing characters off at the end of a story really bugs me.

Also, Ino and Sai created a really creepy looking child. Like god damn, what is that?

 

Hmmm, Fat! Anko doesn't make much sense, given her character, when everyone else at least stayed in shape. It's also sad, but I digress.

Kurenai wasn't bad, just aged.

Salada and Bolt are just baffling if they are not an odd choice to translate the name instead of write it... and still baffling(particularly Salada) if they are translated names regardless. Shikadai, Chouchou, Ino[something] were meh. Chouchou being "butterfly," and reminding me of the Sasuke Retrieval Arc and Chouji is nice, I suppose.

Also, HoS, the 'chocolate' kid was obviously Chouji and Karui's as others have said.

 

I was getting real mad going through that epilogue, and then I saw that Mei is all retired and wrinkly and d'aaaaw, and if anything Tsunade has gotten younger.

I'll take it. NaruTsu OTP, fuck the haters.

 

Tsunade and Shizune know the secret to eternal youth and are not giving it up any time soon.

 

Just...just fuck this this ending. Honestly, I'd rather have had an open-ended one in regards to relationships. Fat Anko. The Choji/Karui that boggles my mind. The washed up looking Kurenai. Naruto's horrible 'do and that of his kids. The hypocrisy from Konohamaru.

Also, am I the only who finds it telling that the last-non epilogue chapter finishes off...on an inner monologue from Sasuke?!That's not something a character besides the protagonist gets to do unless the said protagonist is deceased or otherwise unable to even think!

Though lol at Sakura and Sasuke's stalker kid.

 

On an unrelated note, perhaps It's due to not reading recent stuff, but that was Orochimaru in 699 page 9 bottom right panel, wasn't it? Although I suppose it could have been an Edo-Maru or something... honestly I'm not sure why it would show Kabuto and Orochimaru unless it meant something.

I've been shipping Naruto and Hinata since I was fucking eleven, and today it finally happened. This is the longest fictional payoff I've had in my life since Harry Potter.

I loved this ending. Stick that right in your bowl and eat it.

Hmm? I have no issues with Hinata, although I do agree with others that some of the execution of the Epilogue as a whole was poorly done. Heck, I've read a fairly broad variety of pairings, and while I've read them, Sakura is one of my least favored pairings.

That being said, I am both amused and mildly concerned, while reading the previously linked reactions album.

Also, the people commenting that there is absolutely no grounding for a Naruto/Hinata or Sakura/Sasuke ending... hah.

 

I love how upset people are over Fat!Anko, it's just wonderful.

I like the idea that there will always be a green beast in Konoha.

I don't hate the kid's names, they're alright I guess nothing too upsetting. The pairings were pretty predictable aside from Chouji getting some chocolate love. NaruHina has been my OTP since middle school, so glad it finally happened.

 

I actually read a NaruHina fanfic before watching/reading the series, it was a weird story about them trying to get together while Neji kept fucking with them.

To be completely fair, Naruto did absolutely fuck-all regarding Hinata's confession. Nothing. Not even a passing thought or mention.
One could say that he had a lot on his plate from that point on. That's not true, we've see several times when he was chilling either alone or with the people of his age group.

Even if that were true, the fact that he hasn't even thought about it would give fuel to the Naruto/Hinata haters. Kishimoto did kind of fuck up there.

 

That's pretty much the first thing I thought. Seriously, what the fuck? We know nothing of what Naruto Uzumaki, the fucking protagonist, thinks about everything.

And Naruto looks like he gave up smiling a long time back. And like he abuses his children :3 Is he giving up the Hokage position to rectify filial relationships, though?

And as much as I hate him...Sasuke came out looking the best in the end. Fucking Kishi.

And...BOLT Uzumaki? BOLT?

Just...just...no. The overarching storyline of peace never concluded.

Finally, what's next spring? WHAT'S NEXT SPRING?

Oh, I agree that it was poorly handled, I was just chuckling at the people that claimed there was nothing there at all.

Also, it's poor writing, but depending on what one wants to presume the age of the students might be, this epilogue is likely at least 8-9 years later. Quite a lot of behind the scenes development obviously happened. I mean, Chouji and Karui? Sasuke left, came back at least long enough for Salada to exist, then left again(and came and left and came and left??).


On an unrelated note, I meant to say it earlier but... Geordi La Shino or Shino La Forge?
Mmm, I guess the latter makes more sense, due to replacing the given name. But I had to at least mention the former because jokes.

 

Gotta say, Hinata looks really "happy" with her lot in life :/. Actually, she looks pretty tired. I had a laugh at Tsunade looking younger. Holy shit, princess, you amazing troll. Shizune is a given but what about Sakura? Doesn't really matter, she actually looks happier than Hinata. Hmmm.

Really like the Ino-Shika-Cho new look. Hell, Kiba looks like a beast. And if that's Ayame, well she's also nice and yeah, I like that at least he and Chouji didn't hook up with the childhood love interest.

I'm not really disappointed with the epilogue. It wasn't even half as bad as I feared. I'm strangely content with it.

The names were horrible.

BUT!

Kishi gets bonus points for Tsunade trolling all the women with her eternal youth technique and looking even younger. God, that must sting.
