At the Chunin exams they already had computers and there was somewhere after that TVs. And don't forget the Movies, Train,Giant ships, Flying ships.

 

Of all thing, why is Ino/Sai surprising? I always figured they'd end up together, given that moment where she fawns over his good looks. And I think he compliments her? Or does that happen in the opposite order?

Meh.

 

All I know is that fanfiction has been predicting Ino/Sai for years now.

 

I like to think it isn't as simple as that. The main reason there's so many skyscraper buildings is probably the same reason Chouji ended up with the chick from the Cloud village.

Konoha is likely some kind of experiment right now. Where civilians/ninja from all over the shinobi world come together to live together. With all these extra people, obviously they needed places to live, and skyscrapers are one of the best ways to accommodate a ton of people without running out of room.

What better way to try to promote this continued peace from the end of the war than to try to combine and deeper your ties between all 5 villages by having them all come together in one area.

 

This part bugs me though. What happens when opposing parties both hire ninja? Condottieri style shenanigans? That raises it's own problems. Is there no longer any competition for resources or contracts? Are the Feudal Lords at peace too?

Did Naruto just believe the entire world into a Communist utopia, or is Sasuke wandering around the elemental nations killing anyone who tries to leave the Matrix to undermine the system?

 

Again, it's much more feasible when all the Kage are your friends and/or owe you their lives.

 

Maybe they got rid of assassination and sabotage missions and make mostly protection or bandit extermination ones, with missing nin being the ones who take those? From what the inoshikachou and tenten said there is not much fighting going on so they are probably demilitarizing with most of the fights being against people outside the big five. So ninjas would be some kind of mercenary police rather than just mercenary.

 

And Naruto makes his very profession irrelevant. My guess is that Shinobi will become less and less a military and more very specialized/experienced craftsman/builders/adminustrators...

Imagine construction workers who can build houses in an instant. Farmers who can water their crops on the fly. Lawyers who can read minds... Accountants with the sharingan gives me nightmares...Akimichi football players..

 

Sounds like the lamest shit ever thought up. Ninjas need to ninje. A blade in the dark, fireballs across the battlefield and a rasengan to the mofucking face.

Without this... I'm pretty glad it finished here.

 

And thus the economy collapses because normal people can't compete with ninjas, kick starting the fifth ninja war. Until Naruto says nope and bitch slaps people into obeying, creating a communist utopia while taking advantage that most other ninjas are weaker for the period of peace he established.

Clearly the Soviets collapsed because they didn't have enough ninja.

Edit: After Naruto dies a military races begins and we get a Fallout setting.

 

Only thing that bothers me about the epilogue is Naruto supposedly being a neglectful father, even knowing full well how that kind of thing feels due to his own childhood. Hokage or not, that just sucks and I expected better of him. The rest of it is inoffensive enough. Some of the pairings are a little random, but the armada of ships doesn't really bother me. They're mostly all heirs/heiresses to prestigious ninja clans, so it's expected that they'll all marry and have kids.

 

It's made really stupid when you remember that he manages to be a neglectful father... while one of his main skills is the shadow clone. He can seem to make a nearly endless amount of shadow clones but apparently can't spare one for his kid.

 

I didn't so much see it as him being neglectful and Bolt just following in his shoes and being a bit of an attention whore here. Seems Naruto is aware of Bolt's feelings and tries to make time, but he's sort of a big deal. If he doesn't spend as much time with his kids as he'd like, at least he's aware of the issue and he doesn't do it out of ignorance or lack of caring.

 

Is it just me or does Udon look a bit like Kuwabara from Yuyu Hakusho? Moegi has a familiar look as well. Choji and Kiba look the most bad ass as well. Wish we could have seen Ayame and her father as well.

 

Nothing is 'clear' considering this is an epilogue set at least a decade after the final battle. We can only guess at most things. We know that Naruto acted that way as a child, and we know why. This kid? Well, at least he has both parents alive and obviously wouldn't have been ostracized by the rest of the village the way Naruto himself was, but I don't think it's unreasonable at all to think that he at least has some remotely valid reason for behaving this way (beyond Kishimoto trying to shoehorn a carbon character copy of Part I Naruto into his son). Perhaps he's just a bratty little attention whore, and perhaps Naruto really isn't the world's greatest dad either. At least he's actually there, though, unlike apparently Sasuke.

 

There is only one question that I have of this whole mess. Is Shikadai a boy or girl?

 

Holy shit I pride myself on thinking of obvious, but not so obvious things like this and i didn't even think of this.

Naruto really is a shitty father if he can't even spare a shadow clone for his own son to play with or train. Though i'm gonna go with Kishi probably either just wanted a carbon copy Naruto in the form of his son or just didn't even think of it either since he was rushing the bajeebus out of this epilogue/ending of the manga.
