I don't think so. I mean, you could hold loyal to it in some fashion I guess...but the Qunari character starts out in a mercenary company.

The Qun is a very strict caste system. If you followed the Qun you would hold yourself to your role. You would allow yourself to be shackled and such to masters.

If I'm remembering right, if you were a Qunari mage you wouldn't have enough agency to go off alone in the woods to piss, much less command the Inquisition.

This link has all of the basic skill trees I believe and one or two of the advanced trees.

Saw that one, was looking for Rift Mage and how Archers mesh with rogue advanced classes more specifically though.

It's between those two for me.

The release date is a mixed blessing for me, so close to my uni vacations, yet right in the middle of my exams and I still have my crushing work with no vacation till July.

Let's be honest, even DAO never had an innovative story, so DA I not having doesn't hurt me. A huge game is awesome. Awesome companions is even better news.

Bah, I guess I'm in for a copy then. Reviews seem great and I've always loved the DA Franchise. Feels weird supporting the EA menace but $38 is a great price for a preorder as long as it doesn't end up like DAII.

Honestly, I feel like EA is slowly becoming a better company. Very, very slowly...but they seem to be making progress if DA:I is any indication. Not one, but two delays to allow a better game. No day one DLC...

They are doing a lot better than Ubisoft currently.

Don't get me wrong, they have a long way to go before I would feel comfortable calling them good...but they do seem better.

Credit where is due. They don't completely ignore their clients (anymore). EA sports fans still swallow everything that is throw at them, so can't blame them for not changing anything. But with ME and DAI they heard us and changed things.

Ubisoft is getting ridiculous. Are they aiming to become Call of Duty with blades? Because that's how I see them (but if the next game is about the British Raj... Weak point).

You should see the ridiculous in game purchases in Unity. 3 mins of boosted melee strength etc.

DA does have day 1 DLC. That flame weapons, armour and mount thing. No story DLC though.

I still don't get how a game about assassin's hasn't touched Feudal Japan yet...

They don't want to do Japan because they feel ninja are a bit overdone, iirc.

That's what I heard. Kinda agree too. If the order goes back far enough, ancient egypt/ greece would be awesome.

    Kind of off topic though...

Finally found some Rift Mage details. Dunno if this is all of its abilities, but Firestorm is hilariously OP (Summon 55 Meteors over 15 seconds for 150% wpn dmg each, with a separate ability in the tree that sucks enemies into a vortex-thing). Leaning back towards Mage again. Oh, and Stonefist is 500% wpn dmg on an 8 second CD...

Should be first post on that page.

Firestorm is a focus ability, so it seems appropriate that it would be OP. The Knight Enchnater's Focus ability rezzes and heals all party members. I'm pretty torn..to play a God Dps Mage...or Jedi Gandalf who buffs and heals the party...

I always prefer a mix of the two. Hybrid builds FTW.

Seriously though, I'm likely to go mostly DPS mage with utility as a secondary.

Archers moving around super quick while simultaneously firing looks super cool too...

I will probably play as boring 2-H warrior since I tend to find the mage companions more interesting than Iron Buull or the Grey Warden.

And Hugplx.. remember that you can always switch to another character in your party so it possible to get play options without being one of them(Solas is a Rift mage and the elf maiden is an archer)

We fundamentally play these games differently. I almost get zero joy from building and customising my companions, they're there to support me.

A lot of people play it as the party being extensions of the main character though, I get that. Not me though.
