Finished my KE playthrough, got really bored with the class. Aggressive tanking is so far the most fun I've had with any class. Im currently waiting for Templar to get a buff, as it stands full on tanking is unnecessary so Champion is worthless and Templar is the only other S&S option... But it isn't great against anything but demons (Yes I know that they have the best single-class combo, but it's still meh)

Blackwall with s&b and Champion specced out is almost always at full guard. He's fucking perfect for dragon fights where your potions run out and you start losing party members, since he can disengage without so much as a how-do-you-do, go revive them, then walk right back into the dragon's face without losing more than maybe half his guard.

This is especially useful if you also have Cassandra playing off-tank, since every time she falls, Martyr gives you a hella good buff which you can rinse and repeat with repeat revives.

The highest Death Mark pop I got was 24k IIRC.

Tempest can do some serious burst too, might give it a go in another playthrough with a dagger rogue.

Don't get me wrong, Champion is a fantastic tank. The point is that you (as a PC tank) can achieve the same kind of aggro and guard without a spec and playing aggressively rather than just standing there like a wall.

Having Blackwall as champion while you dps works perfectly, but if you're the tank... Champion is overkill. No real dps increase, boring tactics, and protection mechanics that are unnecessary if you're smarter than the average npc.

Champion may be necessary in nightmare, Def overkill in normal though

Press up or down on the d-pad once in the potions screen (L1), should be no different than doing your own.

    Patch hits today.

They should be fixing general stability, and upping the chance for Party Banter out in the wilderness.

As hyped as I am for Inquisition, I still have doubts due to DAII.

What do you guys think? As good as Origins, at least?

It is certainly worth playing but I liked DA:O a bit more. In my opinion DA:O did a better job at connecting the various (side) quests together and allowed the companions more actual input. (You companions mostly voice their opinion after the fact/at the base and not at the actual discussion).
But it looks great, has interesting characters, a massive world (even if that misses something that really binds it together) the combat system is okay (even if the tactical cam is useless) and some of the quests are very well done.

@Fire: Buy it for the lore alone. It is un-fucking-real how far this single game managed to advance the worldbuilding.

If not for that, buy it to keep up with me, because I'm working on a Dragon Age fic right now because of the inspiration I received there, and if you're not up to date, you're going to eat my authorial dust.

Mage Villains/Betrayers/Got People Killed Because They Couldn't Keep Their Evil Magic Dick In Their Pants (those provoked by Templars noted):

The Tevinter magisters incl. Corypheus who (uncomfirmed, as is only dogma at this point), killed/ruined GOD and ruined the Fade for fucking everyone

    Flemeth (Main Antagonist/Villain?)

Solas (who purportedly might have fucked over the entire elven pantheon)

Corypheus (who may or may not be actual Corypheus) (Main Villain of DA3)

    Calpurnia (Major villain)

Anders (provoked by Templars) (Major character/companion)

    Velanna (Minor character/companion)

    Merrill (Major character/companion)

    Zathrian (Minor character/antagonist)

Uldred (provoked by Templars) (Minor villain)

Orsino (provoked by Templars) (Major character/antagonist of DA2)

    Alexius (Minor character/villain)

    Avernus (Minor character)

    Gascard DuPuis (Minor villain)

    Jowan (provoked by Templars)(Minor character)

    Livius Erimond (Minor villain)

Templar Villains/Antagonists/Dicked Over A Multitude Of People For Andraste (mage provoked noted):

Meredith (Influenced by red lyrium, who no one knew what the fuck was at the time) (provoked by mages) (Major character/antagonist of DA2)

Lord Seeker Lucius (Half counts, since the Seekers are definitionally not templars, since they don't imbibe lyrium, but are still a part of their organization)(Minor villain of DA3)

Samson (if picked mages in DA3) (Major villain)

Greagoir (Half count, since it's not like he tried to kill all mages, just the corrupted ones in his own damn post) (Minor character)

A general feeling that templars in general are dicks and like exterminatus??? (Every game)

The proof is in the pudding, bro. My criteria for this list only included people who the protagonist interacted with personally (exceptions being the ancient magisters, who every Andrastean nation knows and is kind of important being Thedas's main religious myth, and the general feeling bit, since almost every mage besides Vivienne unambiguously agrees the templars aren't sensitive or compassionate in pursuit of their duty as almost a universal rule, as well as some templars). I ruled out anyone who wasn't part of a main story mission, mages and templars both.

I'll take a bunch of minor assholes over a bunch of people almost ruining the world constantly any day. At least Templars need a Right of Annulment and direction before they boatmurder everyone. All a mage needs is an open wound.

I'm going to do an all Templars, fuck mages run of the entire trilogy because of you.

Write what you want, lol. I obviously won't read it.

I can't wait for the Dragon Age game that focuses on the countless Mage prisoners sitting in their prison doing fuck all with their lives because they have no say in the matter btw.

*Stretches arms and prepares to write a full rebuttal...decides it's not worth it.*

My TLDR rebuttal is that you have a list of people we know from the game who were foolish with magic. You have tevinter though they cannot really be considered to be foolish with magic because for the most part we don't know how bad it is over there if at all in terms of abominations/magic.

You have a list of individuals...yet it could be argued that 75% or more of the Templar order could be considered just as evil. Their whole purpose is the imprisonment of -INNOCENT- people. This is not including the numerous human rights violations they have perpetuated in addition. There is evidence of whole circles having Templars who freely rape and take advantage of said circles.

So you might have individuals from a game that needs to have conflict, we have the world basis and a violation against numerous human rights.

I wonder, why do people get so pissed of and defensive when you critisize the mages of the Dragon Age verse? And what is this about entire circles being raped by templars? as far as I know there is two or three metions of Rape in the games, and two of those are in regard to the shithole that is Kirkwall if I'm not mistaken, it does not mean that multiple circles are being raped into submission, I may be wrong though, and if so I will retract my statement.

I'd love the next game to be focused on the Tevinter vs Qunari situation, either with the Inquisiton in between two fucked up superpowers or reforming/ ruling one or the other as one sees fit.

Considering the huge amount of SJWs among the Bioware fanbase (speaking of which I'll have some words to say about their pandering to that fanbase, namely in Dorian and Iron Bull, once I get around to finishing the game and giving my two cents), I'm guessing that a lot of them just get off on oppression.
