Is there a difference between having a game in the inventory and giving it on Steamgifts?

Last time, I was just a receiver as well... so just got a copy of Torchlight II as direct gift.
This process confuses me.

 

Basically, we'll tell you if you'll be one of those that are direct gifting or if those games you donated will be put on steamgifts. Certain games will be directly gifted because we feel that those who contributed to the event should have first priority for games on their wishlists. Without contributors, we wouldn't have this event, which is why they get first dibs so to speak. After that, we'll go by wishlists to directly distribute the rest then place a select number of others plus the leftovers on steamgifts.

 

When is the giveaway actually going to happen then?

Sometime soon. Whenever Jon gets on, I'll give him a poke and see what we can hash out to get this done sooner rather than later. It's Christmas Day though and while ideally we would have liked to get everything done before now, the fact that we started incredibly late this year means that won't be happening this time around.

 

I'm on a huge Steampunk binge, and I would love Dishonored, GOTY if possible, but if not, just as great. My former roomate had it for Xbox and I loved it. Missing it so much now I'm on a binge and don't have it.

 

I don't have the GOTY edition, I've already given that one to a mate, but would you like the normal game?

 

Steamgifts are pretty much for the stuff folks don't have on wish lists, we can't find homes for quickly, or lurker bait, for lack of a better term.
