Now that I'm away from home in particular, the vast majority of my posts are made off my phone. That means it's a struggle to even quote more then one point, especially if I want to multi-quote (which I can't do on my phone) and even scrolling up is a bit of a problem in some cases.

I'll try to add the post number from now on (and keep the name), but copying the link and then putting it in as a url as well as making sure to link everything is a stretch too far, sorry.


I've been scum-reading Malakittens for a while, but I'm not liking the ease in which the entire group seems to be fine with her lynch (has anyone defended her? I know she's only been pushed recently, but she's hit scum lists for a lot of people for a long time), and I worry that we'll end up on her as the easiest target, which seems unlikely to be town - as Quanksor showed.

@Atum, elf tall or orc tall? What is your opinion on short people in the 5 to 5.5 feet range? Are they allowed to breathe?

Also, do you think Rubicon can be scum when he's all SRS BZNSS and doesn't even like crack a joke? Like did anyone else think of writing a short fan fiction titled, "Rubicon takes MathBlade On a Date" or did that just happen in my head?

And I worry for Etrigan, like 1. it has a nice sounding name 2. I imagine like a Knight or something and 3. If scum targeted it, it can't even come out and say"Hey town I'm Etrigan and scum targeted me " because of the Riddler (who might be a good serial killer, we don't know yet) which idk feels a little like double jepoardy or something.

i didn't get her crumb, but if she's not the role I think she is I'll be genuinely baffled. OR she is scum, probably with Atum because her 'sudden flashwagon = innocent townie" theory smells like motivated bullshit.

Titus just doesn't fit into any of my scum team theories.

And I think Ter may actually be scum. More and more I just think her scumhunting doesn't look real. But I'm not betting the game on it and our lynch today is important.

but there is one post I just can't fathom mala making as scum. I can't link it because of riddler stuff but... I think she would have known better than to say it as scum.

 

IIRC the Riddler is only allowed one wrong guess in a given phase, and after three they're outed to the whole thread. If MB were the Riddler and had taken at least one guess given her analyzing of the thread, that could explain what she said about cracking the game by what, mid D2? And then the hesitancy throughout toDay when certain players seem to be behaving differently between D2end into Twilight than she had down, so another wrong guess N2?

I'm beginning to see and feel what so many have said about this game being grim and/or less than fun. I'm not saying I want to get out of it, but my interest has certainly petered off since last week. Throw some questions at me, please.

I don't feel as certain on Lyrium as I used to, and building a firmer case to stay on her at this point is just beyond my will to try. Not to mention she's being townread by several other players and I'm sticking to my glass-half-full perspective on that kind of thing.

Are people teamhunting at the expense of scumhunting? That's not something I've noticed, but okay. I think both can be useful.

Could you give me an example of something you think was a town mindset when pressuring someone? I don't think pressure by itself town from a competent player (and I think Qgqqqqq is clearly a competent player).

Yeah, that post stood out to me. It was a weird post. Since I think Atum is scum, I've been mulling over the idea that he wanted to be seen voting a partner.

What bothers me about your approach to scumhunting in this game is that when you look at a competent player (like Titus or Qgqqqqq) you start by not suspecting them and then you search for scummy plays that you can point to as your reason for scumreading them.

If nothing jumps up and slaps you in the face, even skimming the first few hundred posts of the game, you default to not pressuring them or giving them much attention.

As a result you end up with only a couple strong scum reads on day 3 with 14 players and 5 scum still alive.

Riley is probably going to flip town. If TerRaine is town, she wouldn't put Riley as her strongest town read (a 9/10 only slightly below herself) without good reason, and I can think of several reasons she could have. Meanwhile, if TerRaine is scum, I think it is unlikely that she attached herself to lurker-scum Riley by townfirming him on day two.

Terraine I strongly believe is town. Riley I am not sure about.

If Riley is town then one of his fluff /Kento moves to scum.

Therefore I think we should lynch in Citrus/Malakittens/Atum as I can't build a world without them being scum.

 

Simply that TerRaine has stated in absolute terms that he will.

His play was weird. It was town in some ways, not town in others. He reminds me of Quanksor, actually: he seemed like he didn't care about impressing anyone. He basically acted as though everyone who talked to him was scum trying to doubtcast him.

+ what I said above about the way she scumhunts. Which could be summarized, "TerRaine has to work hard to see other players as scummy" which I think is a scum tell.

She posts a lot. She's active. She's always around. But she never seriously pressures or appears to even think much about anyone outside of a very small list of players. She asks questions. But she doesn't do anything with the answers to those questions. Try to find any opinion, analysis or pressure on Kento, his fluffiness, Atum, Malakittens, or you (before I asked) from her since d2.

She has town reads, though they usually amount to not understanding why anyone thinks the person is scummy. But town reads are easy, the scum already know who's town.

(I'm also skeptical that this is how town reacts to having scum reads shot down... she should still be pressuring Zenzao right? Even if people don't agree, she should be focused on him? When people disagree with one of her cases, she just moves on and tries someone else.)
