Ron. He's a prejudiced bigot. Let him trade places with Draco (since birth) and he'd just be another Draco.

Harry. As was posted before me, 11 years of abuse won't land you with an accepting individual. Hell! Even one year of ridicule from my former classmates landed me with inferiority complex and it took the better part of three years to become confident again. I'd expect a child who's been abused for 11 years or so to be less trusting, more shy and more calculating.

Ginny. She doesn't love Harry! She loves the Boy Who Lived! Besides that, she was painted as a nobody except in CoS and OotP ,where she cameoed as lady in distress (only at the end), and one fifth of a band of sidekicks respectively. Someone with that low a reputation in five straight books can't get promoted to leading lady in the sixth book. It just isn't logical.

Molly. I would never ever survive in the sMOTHERing environment she tries to create for Harry. If she thinks the poor kid needs sympathy then let her sympathize with the poor kid. But if she acted on that sympathy, and if I were that poor kid, I'd be 3000 miles away already.

Hermione (only in HBP). She turned herself into a whore for a stupid guy who probably doesn't know he has a brain cell. Come on. A smart girl like her ought to pick someone better.

Lupin. He's a quite a pushover. If I were a werewolf I'd be terrorizing all the other kids in the block. Besides, he stole MY Tonks!

That's just about it (unless I get into another ranting mood).

The reason everyone hates Hermione is because she's, put simply, an anal bitch. Right from the first book she has a huge superiority complex and what seems like no social skills (she cant even take a bit of childish name-calling, and this extends even to book six.).

I seriously doubt Harry would have failed out of Hogwarts without Hermione. As soon as he got back his first assignment with a great big 'TROLL" mark on it, he would have realized that he would have his ass shipped back to Privet Drive if he flunked out. That's a pretty good motivator.

As for book 6, she's just plain stupid. Despite Malfoy being a pure-blood supremacist, with obvious ties to Voldemort (Remember the end of book 4), she still thinks he isn't a DE and doesn't even suspect him when a shitload of dark activity is happening in the school, as well as Harry's account of Malfoy and Snape discussing assassinating DD.

Not only that, but she shows no fucking tact when it comes to delicate situations, example: After DD death. She also doesn't have any of that Gryffindor bravery, example: Not telling Ron she likes him and tossing Lavender out on her ass. Thirdly, she gets worked up over nothing, example: Attacking Ron for no damn reason, aside form the fact that she wants his dick and can't have it.

As for another addition of who I personally dislike, it would mostly be Lupin and most of the Hogwarts Staff.

Lupin for being 1) a really shitty family friend. Where the hell was he when Harry was being locked in a cupboard and starved? And 2) for being the biggest pussy of a werewolf I have ever seen. If I was bitten at a young age, as soon as I could I'd be out getting revenge, being bitter and terrorizing the townsfolk.

The Hogwarts staff for being dumbasses. The simply turn a blind eye to everything the Slytherins do and an even blinder eye to what Snape does to all the other Houses. McGonnagal in particular does jackshit when ever someone needs help (remember book one and book five).

That's something that has annoyed me quite a few times. Harry has gone to her twice and both times she's pretty much ignored his warnings. Okay, in HBP, Draco wasnt anywhere near Hogsmeade but with magic, there are a lot of ways around that.

I agree with most of the problems with Hermione in OotP and HBP.

Most of your anger towards her is based on HBP, which doesn't count as it was written by the GNAA and not JKR.

From books 1-5 she was rightful in her superiority complex. She's the smartest witch at least in her class, maybe smartest in the school towards GoF and OoTP, and she learns new spells exceptionally well.

As for the name calling, well you forget that she was 11. 11 year olds get their feelings hurt, especially when somebody is being a jackass towards you and talking behind your back for no reason.

The nagging does get a bit old after awhile, but then again it's the only thing stopping Harry from devolving to Ron's level. Something has to motivate those two idiots.

Did you forget who is in her class? Utter retards. Just because she is the smartest out of her class, who is fucking stupid, doesn't mean she is a genius.

Also, look at what other people were doing at her age.

James Potter- animagus, marauders map, wordless magic.

Sirius Black- animagus, marauders map, wordless magic.

    Peter Pettigrew- animagus, marauders map.

Remus Lupin- genius, wordless magic, marauders map.

Severus Snape- making spells, wordless magic, potion genius, can make faster ways to do potions.

Tom Riddle- Looking for Immortality, discovering the Chamber of Secrets, controlling a basilisk and tricking the whole school to blame Hagrid, genius and insanely strong.

Hermione Granger- Um, she can do a 7th year spell. Oh, yeah, and she gets taught by Harry to do a Patronus, who she is supposedly better than.

You forgot that he made a Horcrux! How could you?

    ...

    ;)

Anyways, what DLR brought up has always bothered me. Why is it that Harry's class is so incredibly weak, while the Marauders' era did all these incredible things, as did Tom Riddle and (can't believe you forgot this as well) so did Dumbledore. Madam Marchbanks said that when Dumbledore took his N.E.W.T.s in Transfiguration and Charms, he did things with a wand that she had never seen before! Hermione, while good at copying and performing spells already created, has never shown any aptitude for the advanced thinking necessary to being in the elite class that DLR talked about.

My math teacher would call her a "fantastic non-AP student," which basically means that she can't draw any higher meaning from the work she is doing, essentially just memorizing and repeating, making up for her lack in talent and critical thinking with hard work, which, while admirable, can never replace the real thing. I think that she may do incredibly well on her N.E.W.T.s, but that would be the apex of her learning, because she just can't progress any further than that. If you've read Jack's story, then you know his thoughts on advanced Defensive magic, mainly that the higher levels of magic begin to incorporate multiple branches of magic into them, creating spells with different fronts that require the same skill to block as to cast. And, honestly, I just don't think that Hermione would be able to do that.

She's a hard worker and decently intelligent, but she doesn't have that extra something that separates the good from the great. Maybe her parents didn't play Mozart for her when she was a baby or something, but she just doesn't have "it."

Shit, I did forget. Oh yeah, read the DoM scene very carefully. She may be somewhat smart, but read that and she how badly she reacts and how shitty she is.

While I normally don't do character bashing, I have to agree with Fuegodefuerza. Why does the mwpp generation and beyond have all these incredible talents, yet all Harry's generation has is an anal retentive witch with the capacity to memorize dusty textbooks and spit the information back out - not even bothering to make her own opinion about it. Something doesn't fit there.

I don't like fanon!superpower! Harry and co., but it seems like the only way to find a semi-talented character.

Yeah, when people talk about Hermione being a genius, everyone seems to forget just how much work she's putting in her studies. Real prodigies aren't working for hours and hours, trying to memorize bunch of fact they can impress the teachers with. They are kids like the Maraurders, Snape or Riddle, who have a true passion for some subject, in which they figure out new things by themselves.

I've known people like Hermione and there's a name for them - bookworms. NOT prodigies. Two entirely different things, that get mixed up thanks to standardized grading system.

After a brief but intense discussion with my dad, I think I now understand what Rowling was getting at.

Yes, Harry and crew don't have a whole bunch of extraordinary powers. And yes, we have yet to see any special talents pop up in Harry's classmates.

What Rowling was trying to show is that the wizarding world has a standard of "normal" when it comes to powers, talents, special abilities and etc. People like Dumbledore and the Marauders are the exceptions in that they are the "prodigies" of the wizarding world.

Not exactly appealing to myself, but I do believe that is the reasoning behind it. Rowling did state in an interview that she did not set out to write a superhero, she set out to write about a normal individual thrust into not-so-normal situations.

I still think Herman's an uptight bitch and Harry needs to start kicking some serious arse. Probably his own in this case.

I understand that most people are "normal" wizards but what I hate is that Harry isn't one of those prodigies.

Correct he hasn't put forth much effort but there has to be some reason why stuff like even simple spells take him awhile. I still think there is some sort of block because he is supposed to be Riddles equal. So I wouldn't be surprised by a magical maturation or something on his 17th birthday. (17 right?)

Let's look at it this way. Maybe he is too strong. Why is he bad at Hogwarts? The spells are too easy. WTF you say. Look at the hard spells, Patronus, some DADA spells, he masters those quick. Easy spells take him a little longer. His power has to adjust, but for more powerful spells it is easier for him to master.

The reason he can do the hard spells is that he actually tries to master them and works hard at them, as opposed to his normal school work.

It would be purely for the sake of destroying canon, not because I have any particular like of that ship.

I understand why people hate Hermione. I honestly find her annoying in canon and tend to skip over whatever long speaking parts she may have in the books. I don't mind Snape or Draco ( I find them both funny. Ignorant people make me laugh), and I pity Remus.

I CANNOT stand a Mr. Ronald Weasley!! I hate him with a passion. He has to be the worst best friend you could ever have. He gets insanely jealous for no reason and is a complete moron.

Next on my list would have to be Dumbledore. He supposed to be all powerful and smart but for the most part he's completely useless. He doesn't help Harry at all half the time. The other half is just riddles or some shit.

Third would be Harry himself. My goodness he has to be the worst main character I've ever read. He rarely stands up for himself (I've would've told Umbridge to eat me) and doesn't think clearly about a situation before acting. (DoM). Man, I hate him.

In that case, Rowling has written herself into a hole. If Riddle and Dumbledore are both prodigies, and wizards of immense power, how is a normal person supposed to even stand a chance?

As far as hated characters, I abhor Dumbledore for being so intensely naive. What does it take to realize that wars require death on the enemies side, and not just yours? I highly dislike canon Harry, mainly because I cannot stand people who waste their potential. The same reason I hate many stupid/ignorant people. I also dislike Remus. Here we have a character who, by all signs, is a genius. Now if I were a genius with lycanthropy, I would focus my attentions on controlling the transformation, rather than just moping and whining about it.

The reason they are so weak compared to the generations before them, is that they are being coddled, they haven't got the trheat of death looming over them. The people before them had Voldemort to be afraid of, before that it was Grin-Delly-walter. War is the key to strength.

Fear Goes to Anger, Anger goes to hate, and Hate goes to power. -grins.- Such cheesie yet true words.

What threat did Voldemort have? And Voldemort was only big after they graduated, and a little in seventh year, the Marauders did all that in 5th year.

Dumbledore might have had Grindelwald, but I doubt it was that early. It was later when he was a teacher.
