I think there's a total of one werewolf!Harry story that isn't slash. I'm pretty sure it was in the WBA here a couple years ago.

Personally, I just don't find the idea all that exciting to be honest.

 

Lycantrophy is just a disease in HP, like... A really hostile case of herpes. Only it gets you fluffy and more aggressive. Why would that make a good story?

If they were Lycans like in Underworld, then it'd be something else.

It features (later in the story) pack politics and more background for werewolves.

 

That's a good story, but Harry is not technically a werewolf, more like Werewolf Animagus.

 

Close enough I'd say, especially once the werewolf pack dynamics come in.

 

There are quite a few of these. The Song of the Trees has Harry transforming into a white wolf. He is an honorary pack member in Prince of the Dark Kingdom. Also, Wolfmother by Krahae. Its Astoria-centric with her as a werewolf though.

 

Hmm, hadn't seen any of the Stan's ones, nor heard about them before. Are they anything approaching decent?
I'll have to take a look.


As for "Weres Harry?", I can't stand that story. It just hits all the wrong notes as I try to read it, and I never got through to more than a few chapters. If I remember correctly, it started as a one-shot, and only then got extended. Controversially, it's too silly for me, yet silliness and jokes are what make people like it.


On related note, I might know someone who frequents the forums and has an unfinished Werewolf Harry story. What is burried in WbA, though, is the start of the "second" book.

I think I forgot (lost some notes about) the original fifth year plan I had, but at some point I'm going to find a few free months (yeah, right) and wrap it up faster. I hate it staying unfinished even though the quality of it leaves much to be desired.

It has all of the things that make the experience average at best - wonky dialogue, keeping to the books a bit too closely, and long talks with Dumbledore - even if it launches off in random forests for the last few chapters written...

At the same time, it's a 200 000 word length story I managed to churn out, which is more than I can say about the more popular ones of mine.

 

I came here to rec Nauro's story. Despite what he says about it, I enjoy it. Other than that, the few other werewolf!Harry stories I've looked at seem too close to twilight fanfic to me.

 

The Basement by Marz1 is an old one (2003) that you might find worth reading.
