To be fair, it's not a baseless claim...

Not conclusive, but enough to make it reasonable.

It's not really substantiated by what Sirius says as he was not killed by the Killing Curse.

We know death is instantaneous with the killing curse and haven't seen anyone scream on being subjected to it. It really isn't an outlandish assumption then.

How could they feel pain? They die instantly when hit with the Killing Curse, and we know that the afterlife is fairly peaceful according to the Potters' spirits.

What annoys me more is when people use that justification to say that the killing curse was first invented to put down animals painlessly ( to eat them or something ).

If you shot someone in the head they wouldn't scream either. Of course they probably would if it wasn't a kill shot. The point is you can't know if there is pain because the person doesn't survive to tell you and if the pain lasts less than a second it doesn't really matter.

The wizards also have the veil to execute criminals.

Do we have any proof that the veil was currently in use as opposed to having the criminals kissed?

They could have used it instead of the dementors. From what we know, it's pure cruelty that drove them to use such despicable torture to punish criminals.

We don't know what the purpose of the veil is.. but I doubt it was ever meant to be used for executing criminals. For all we know, shoving too many humans into it might tear the very fabric of the universe or something.

How'd they know to believe her, although there wouldn't be a hall of prophecies, if they where all bs and JKR also didn't give any details on how the prophecies are recorded and stored there or, at least, I didn't hear about it yet.

I thought JKR did explain the prophecies through Dumbledore in third year and though the fate of Harry and Voldemort. It seemed to me that what she was saying was that your actions led you to a specific point and that by acting out against the prophecy as Voldemort did he inadvertently cemented it's validity. As for whether or not a prophecy is BS it all comes down to how the listener interpreted it.

Author's putting different style writings at the beginning of the chapter to signify who/what is talking or thinking. You should be doing that through your writing not through font style.

"Madam Pomfrey keeps telling me she'll get a bed with my name on it if I keep this up," says harry as everyone chuckles.

That formula is really getting to me now.

Especially since he really didn't go the hospital wing that much in the books.

    OK.

Should I go on? It may be a well-worn joke, but it's not like it doesn't have some basis in fact. Harry spends way more time in the hospital wing than the average student.

I did not explain myself fully Harry has been in the hospital wing four maybe five times over the course of the seven books for his own injuries, The others were for Hermione, or Ron. The well worn-joke implies that he is in the hospital wing far more than that for his own injuries which isn't true. Considering the hands on experience every student has with magic via potions, Herbology, Quidditch, ect. Harry really didn't have that many problems.

A lot of your quotes were times when he visited the hospital wing but wasn't actually a patient. Really, he was only actually a patient maybe once a year, so saying he is going to have a bed with his name in on is quite annoying for me in a story.

EDIT: Pete91888 beat me to it

It's especially annoying when things like parseltongue are shown with weird symbols at the beginning and end and then every time a character thinks something it is in bold. If I see this in a story I leave immediately.
