It's one avenue she could pursue to avenge herself on both Harry and Calypso for 'sabotaging' her relationship with Krum (assuming she quickly and unceremoniously dumps Harry after doing the deed and making sure Calypso knows about it in order to destroy their relationship). But there are other ways to go about getting her pound of flesh, that don't involve the kind of self-debasement it would require for Kira to go between the sheets with someone she despises and views as an inferior.

Also, as has been pointed out, Harry is very unlikely to go for something like that and Kira would only compound her humiliation by trying.

Honestly, it would be boring and quite pointless, there are much more interesting plots to read about than a failed seduction attempt

Harry knows exactly how Kira feels about him:
Unless he and Calypso caught on it and with Calypso's permission, I doubt he'd sleep with Kira. And I don't think Calypso would go for it, even if she could legitimately call Kira a whore afterwards.

I don't think anyone thinks he'd take the chance, more it'd be hilarious to see her humiliated for trying. I must admit, it'd be nice to see Kira truly humbled.
Though I forgot she knew about their whole legilimency thing. She'd probably not bother knowing they can read her true intentions.

Well not exactly. Harry also sensed another, small and deeply hidden emotion from Kira. Who knows what it might have been. I'm imagining the tingle of excitement that leads to hatesex

Kira is the opposite of what this Harry is attracted to. Let's list all the problems with this pairing from Harry's point of view:

He is not impressed by her skill in magic (despite her being better at spell creation, we don't see any respect from Harry when she helped him with the final project after second year), she behaved like a spiteful bitch during Calypso's mishap, she dated his best friend (Harry values it too much to jeopardize it on a piece of ass), she has a bad attitude that puts him off, she is a racist, he knows she hates him.

I just don't see anything happening there apart from some fanfanfiction side stories.

I don't get why people treat the idea of this as if people are suggesting Harry and Kira are gonna go frolick off and fuck relentlessly. Ain't gonna happen, hence why everyone who posted about the idea used the word try. Nobody honestly thinks it's a pairing - it's a funny scene. Raging on about how this pairing would never happen is irrelevant, nobody thinks it will.
Seeing Kira being humiliated after an attempt to flirt with Harry was the idea people found funny, although seeming more unlikely now due to legilimency.

    Raging on? ... okay ...

Still, I stand by my post. I tried to organise why Kira would not feature in any of Harry's fantasies (btw, who wrote that piece about Harry animating a photo of Kira to undress? I can't seem to remember) and that this was entirely doomed from both sides.

Harry seems more like the guy who gets a hard-on from a forbidden tome of ancient Sumerian Demon Summoning Rituals. He's like Hermione in that regard, minus the moral objections, in that he would actually try it.

The only way I can see Harry/Kira happening is if Kira gets dumped then decides to take out her rage by dosing Harry with a love potion and taking advantage of him for sex. Harry would feel violated, Calypso would be pissed, and Viktor would probably rage in some fashion also. One stroke and she'd piss all three of them off, especially if she went on record saying something to make Krum's public perception plummet (since he's apparently worried about PR given his Quidditch aspirations).

Enemy is too strong a word, I guess. What I meant was she could easily cause major problems for all 3 of them. Could you imagine of Rita Skeeter can get Kira to sit down for an interview? She wouldn't even need a quick-quotes-quill, Harry (and be extension the Potters) can come off looking real bad.

That would be in character and much better than what's been suggested.

Honestly, this discussion reminds me of why I used to hate/never open this thread.

At least it's discussion, Zennith. Much better than 'this is amazing, write more' and all the meaningless posts we used to get. Much better than nothing at all, as well.

Not to say this is a particularly well-thought out strain of discussion, but I think it's better to either add intelligent discourse/change the topic rather than disparage against it while not adding anything more meaningful than what you're disparaging against.

And to take a bit of my own advice: I don't think Kira/Harry will ever happen, and previous interactions between the two of them would agree with my sentiment. Someone mentioned another 'unknown feeling' that Harry sensed from Kira; I think that was just the love/lust she felt for Krum, or the fact that she and Krum had had sex recently.

I don't entirely agree - asinine posts (of which there were many - not all of them, certainly, but many) just make it more difficult to sift through the actually intelligently thought out conversation.

Edit: Maybe you don't remember, but back in the day this thread brought a shit ton of terrible posters to the board who would ONLY post in this thread and who had no understanding of how DLP works or the level of discourse that's generally preferred. That's what I'm remembering right now.

And you remembering it isn't really helping the discussion either.

The Kira situation is really a minor thing, but when put in the context of how Harry has essentially been fudging the truth about what he learns at Durmstrang to his parents, as well as the issues in the press, it could turn into a royal blowout if she were to go on a vengeful streak.

I'm rather looking forward to it, especially now that Rita has her claws on the fact that Calypso is a Rosier.

    Who are you?

Okay anyways, I'll contribute to this asinine debate: you all are making Kira out to be a much bigger deal than I suspect she'll wind up being. Maybe she could cause trouble, but think - think about Durmstrang. She does, and she'll get her ass handed to her by Harry/Calypso. I could be wrong, of course, but I imagine this is mostly just to get rid of her a bit more - she's basically served her purpose (which so far has been to push Calypso and Harry together by way of her antagonism). Krum/Hermione is more interesting anyway, frankly.

Whoever wrote a piece about Harry doing that I'd find pretty silly, sounds very out of character for a Harry who seeks challenge.
The issue is, you're trying to say "this wont happen" when nobody has. Nobody thought it would. Then you're arguing against nothing, because no one thinks it would work. Stand by your post all you like - it doesn't mean that your points are any more relevant.

Up around New Years indeed! Granted, it wasn't the 2012 New Years, but that's a minor detail. Anyways, I can't express how incredibly happy I am that this story finally updated! I ran across it about three months ago and read through the entire thing twice since then, but I never seriously thought that you'd pick it up again. Actually, I only found out about the update because I saw that the story on FF.Net had been updated (which I only saw because I was looking for it so that I could send someone a link to it), and I checked to see whether this one had been, as well on a whim. Best. Whim. Ever. I hope we don't have to wait another two years for chapter 18, but, to be perfectly honest, it would be worth it even if we did.

Would it be alright for us to start calling Santi George R.R Martin at that point?

Not unless he kills a character we like in every update.
