Nice to see you got it finished, Taure. Did you happen to use that site that I linked you to?

I did indeed, used the second one (Microsystems or something like that). I found them very reliable, the mobo was here within 2 days and undamaged, unlike ebuyer.

I'm not going to upgrade until late next year, after Vista has come into cycle.

When Vista comes into use, hardware companies are going to scramble to provide more affordable hardware that can run new technologies.

Current generation hardware will suffer a price drop and we'll see more newer technologies come out at lower prices as well.

    Compaq Presario Laptop

AMD Turion 64 Mobile processor ML-34 1.8 GHz, 1MB L2 cache up to 1600MHZ system bus

    1024MB ram
    80GB Hard drive
Super Multi 8x DVDR/RW with double layer support.

15.4 inch High Def widescreen display.

Wireless LAN with 125HSM booster support.

ATI Radeon 200M, whatever that is.

Got it for about $950 when compared to the Acer I got a year before. (I am now broke) which was something like 1.5 GHz, 60gb, crystal bright video card, with a unusable wireless LAN for $1500, from NCIX.com, which is usually a great site.

Compaq came with a multi use printer that is 4800x1200 DPI and a 512mb external hard drive plus the new correl package.

I have dual core if that's what you mean. My computer knowledge stretches to what I learned from PC Gamer.

No, that's isn't what he means. The Core 2 Duo is a dual core Intel processor. There is also Core 2 Extreme and Core 2 Solo (single-core). Apparently there's also a quad-core version in development.

    O.K. sorry.

So does it give you like 2 6400's or what? Is it like having dual harddrives, video cards, ram where it just doubles up or are there unique features?

A bit more then 3000 for the first and 2000 for the second, due to everything else such as motherboards, cooling systems, DvD drives, monitors, sound systems, combo printers, keyboards and mouses, etc. The second I was only able to obtain because of discounts through school

Wow, I envy you, I am unable to play HL2. It almost makes me want to become emo because my life is like a black abyss without it.

I got a new system a few months back.

    Core 2 Duo 6400
    GeForce 7950 GT
    2 GB DDR2 ram
    250 GB HD
    Vista (annoying buggy pos)

Was planning to upgrade video card as soon as some more DX10 ones came out – but just realised my 450w PSU probably won’t be able to handle it.
