Been reading way to many stories where Harry is physically an adult, but acts like a teen (or a child). I want to read something where Harry acts like an adult and has an adult mindset. I don't just mean in his decisions, but in the writing style of his personality and dialogue as well.

Is somebody an adult in their early 20s? That's debatable, but I think there can be some leeway here. For this thread go ahead and post something if Harry's 19 or 20-something, and acts his age, like a young adult.

Physical age doesn't matter that much, for instance Backwards with a Purpose is a good example of adult Harry acting like an adult. He just happens to be in the body of an 11 year old.

Genre, pairing, perspective doesn't matter. Only requirement is Harry acts like an adult.

 

Well, there's a number of good stories, which I'm sure other people will recommend, but the first one that came to mind is Ryuugi's The Master Of Death.

Maturity I suppose. Maybe I wasn't clear in my request.

One example of a story where adult Harry acts like a teen with would be A Black Comedy. I suppose it's debatable, but I'd say he and Sirius both acts like a teenagers in that fic. I'm not trying to play down the brilliance of that fic at all, it's just not what I'm asking for in this thread. A lot of the humor genre end up having childish main characters for obvious reasons.

That being said, it's often due to terrible writing.

 

The Human Condition is a fantastic story about an adult Harry. While Harry isn't exactly totally 'there' he still reads and feels like an adult.
