The one in Hawaii, since I grew up in Australia. Seems kind of bizarre to need to go all that way, though.

I live in Germany now, so Durmstrang for my son.

I'd be fine with the idea that British magicals went along with the British Empire and stamped on the native witches and wizards while the Muggles did their conquering, but I can't see them being that interested in what the Muggles are doing.

Hogwarts. This thread isn't very fun for us British.

Kinda surprised Australia doesn't have one.

Would love the one in Alexandria though, or Durmstrang if it was anything at all like how Santi imagined it.

Really? I would stay the fuck away from Santi's Durmstrang.

We're no sure there isn't one, from what I could tell. I thought the list was just the confirmed schools?

Besides, do you really think that'd be cool? I think i'd probably kill myself in this fictional world the second I saw a Bogan on a flying surfboard, or a magical flying Hilux...

Yes, but Care of Magical Creatures Class would be the best thing ever. Just imagine a Drop Bear outbreak.

    Definitely.

Like some aspects of it would be shitty, namely hexing in halls, pure blood mania.

But the Personal Projects at the end of term, the unrestricted learning would really appeal to me on a personal level as someone who always likes a challenge, or something which can keep me interested.

Born in Hong Kong, grew up in Canada, so either the Chinese or Hawaiian school for me.

On the other hand...do you think Hogwarts accepts students from British colonies?

Why the hell does Hawaii have a major magical school, anyway? I can understand most of the others, but Hawaii is pretty random.

Remote, low population and fairly central to both ends of it's students living areas. Just a guess though.

Hawaii, in addition to serving wizards along the western seaboard of the U.S., Central America, and possibly Canada, could also help to fill that Southeast Asian gap that others were mentioning, and perhaps even East Asian, though there would probably be at least one other major school in that area.

It would all depend on how large the school was and how many languages they could accommodate, but English, Spanish, and perhaps one or two other languages doesn't seem too bad. My university offered at least that many, and more.

We also might consider that language barriers could also be overcome in other ways, in much the same way for instance, that such gaps were/are bridged in international bodies like the UN, wherein a language like French might be spoken as a kind of mutual language. Seems like something wizards capable of learning dozens of languages (if Albus and Crouch are any example) might do.

So, in addition to their own mother tongue, wizards might grow up learning to speak something like a root or international language shared among a much larger community of wizards in adjacent or overlapping territories.

I like the name 'Oceanic Wizarding Lyceum' for an Oceanic school. Would be cool if it were on it's own island or something between Australia and NZ or a bit north of that.

Honestly Wondering how Hawaii does their commute, Aus-Hawaii?

If there was some underwater travel involved it would be amazing.

They've tamed box jellyfish to act as gigantic rafts. The kids that make it across the ocean are then sorted into houses based on how they beat back the Great White Sharks.
