The two released so far were only teasers. No doubt they will release a lot more to build more hype and awareness before premiere.

 

Info about 'Rogue One' dropped Sunday from the Anaheim convention. It will be a prequel to the originals, and basically centers on the rebel effort to steal the Death Star plams. No jedi (although I suspect some sort of cameo appearance by Vader). It is first and foremost a war story.

I already have the toy it's based off (the Sphero 2.0). It's neat.

 

Disney was going to kill Star Wars I heard. Well so far they're doing a pretty good job of expanding the movie franchise and bringing to us new horizons. I've always felt like the conflict between the Empire and the Rebels was not exploited to its maximum potential. After all, we only ever saw the civilian life of, what, Tattoine? Everything else was about military might. It never brought to attention the fact that the Empire was the legitimate government and that the average Joe was working for the Empire. Being a TI-Fighter polite was just a job for Joe. He's not evil, he's just doing his job. I think it could be a great opportunity to explore these conflicts a bit more in Rogue One and from what I read so far, it seems like it's something the producer decided to explore in that movie.

In all seriousness, this only makes me look forward to the new movie that much more. Hell, maybe it will give Serkis his long-overdue Oscar.

The more I hear about all the practical effects Abrams is using in the film, the more excited I am.

Is John Williams supposed to do a song or three for this? Because if he can create the likes of Duel of the Fates for the Prequels, imagine what he can do for a good Star Wars movie.

 

I think it's pretty telling that Simon Pegg took up a role despite his deep hatred of the prequels. This shit is going to be good.

 

The only way I can get more excited about this movie is if they reveal one of the characters is a growed up Cindel from the Ewok movies. Cuz those movies were awesome.
