I have a damn good idea on how they get together...i even wrote it out and had my Best Friends dad(who graduated from Baldin Wallace with a degree in literature) check it over and he thought it was good

 

If your certain of what you want to do, go ahead and do it. Don't let people whom you've never met and probably never will meet tell you what you can and can't write. If you have the muse to write this, go ahead, see if it turns out well.

 

The summery is the most important part of your story. If people can't stomach your summery their not even going to bother opening up the main story.

bjs1111, if I were you, I would probably learn how to shut my mouth. Insulting the people on this site with more power, and from the looks of it more intelligence then you is not the smartest move a guy can take. Seriously dude the members on this site only take so much shit before things go bad, keep that in mind. We made pull friendly insults on one another, but do attempt not to piss the other person off. (Too badly anyway)

As to your idea, go ahead and write it. It may be an overused story idea, but as long as you though a unique twist in with it, I would be willing to read it. The problem you face, is that as many people stated earlier, it is overused and quite a turn off because of that. But if you feel that you are a good enough writer to overcome any troubles you might face when writing the fic go for it.

If you are still looking for beta's, like the others here have posted, the easiest way would be to just google it. Unless you have found some other people that are willing in which case you don't need to keep looking. And if such is the case, write it already.

And dude, as it was previously stated, writing the summery to your fic is probably the most important part of the fic. Without a good summery you are not going to attract readers, and it doesn't matter who the hell you think you are. But if you can't attract readers, you are just wasting your time and effort.

And personally dude, I don't understand how it is that you can write a good summery for another author and not be able to write one for your own. I mean, how can someone not being the author write a good intro, not knowing what is going to happen on later in the story. Good authors take a little from what is going to happen, and put it into the summery. And unless you have finished the story, and read it all before they post it, it would be rather hard for a person to write an intro about the story.

P.S. And dude if from your posts is anything to go by.....I can see why you really need a beta. We here like to be able to spell as well as be able to read well. If we can't read what you type, you are going to get a lot of negative responses to anything that you say or post on this site. So my advice, type like a normal person, but the "S" or the "C"'sin its propers spot, there is no need for "Z"'s in words that they don't belong in. And speak with "Intelligence!"

 

i just dont type well in forums because i just dont put alot of thought into spelling or Grammar inForums because it doesn't really matter in the conversation unless its so bad where you can understand someone....and the reason i can't write a summary for mine very good is that if i do it for mine i end up exposing major things that shouldnt be exposed and thus ruining the story I can write for other peoples because i see it as every other reader would see it so i just put down what the story is about instead of typing everything in the story which happens so often with my stories ive given up...and the summary i posted wasn't my actual summary i just posted that as something to give you people an idea of what the stories like

 

well thats the fucking problem, we dont accept that kind of shit. This place is for posting intellectual conversations with as little spelling and grammar problems as possible. Read the fucking rules, it says no excuse for bad spelling.

It matters a great deal if someone CAN'T understand your posts. if you go around writing like your in grade 2 then no one will bother reading your arguments and posts. This place has rules, follow them or else you will most likely be banned.

So stop being a lazy ass and re-read and fix your posts. And if you did not know, there is a spell check button. USE IT!!

Dude we aren't going to dis any story you might like, unless it is an overused plot, or the material in the story sucks ass. You see the problem? Your story falls into the first category. The fact, that you admitted yourself, is that you are too lazy in order to type in a proper fashion.

Dude I don't care if you spell "Cool" with a "K" really, but lots of other people do. And it isn't just that that we are bitching at. It is the fact that you happen to be misspelling the other words that you post. Even if just for posting on this site man, change your attitude. Just fallow the rules like everyone else, and you should do fine. I mean is that honestly so hard?

When you post on this site, post Intelligently and correctly, many people may be "able" to read what you misspelled, but most people hate to read it. So once again, just post like a regular human being. Then you can go out into the world and talk like an idiot.

Helping is a two way thing - if you were smart and serious about looking for a beta I would have thought you would have made yourself useful and liked in the community. Perhaps you may have written some reviews for some other people, submitted some small pieces of your own writing. e.c.t.

You seem to be coming of pretty arrogantly and self centered - maybe that’s just me.... and I admit I am hardly one to talk with my rep as low as it is.

Still if you can't be bothered with your summery, or with the quality of your posts it does not bode well for your actual story.

Beta's aside - Why don't you join an online semi professional writers group. There are plenty around that write original fiction and they tend to beta each others work with far greater rigor than Ive found in most fanfiction communities. In fact I belonged to one for a while and I was VERY impressed at both how helpful they were to those that genuinely wanted to put the effort into improving and the professionalism and standard of their critique.

Of course the one I belonged too demanded a fairly high level of regular activity so.....

 

Would you recommend one? If not can you just Private Message me one of the URLs for one?

The problem with you is your arrogance. I personally don't give a shit about how long a person has been on the site, or what their rep is...if they're a moron, I'll treat them like one. But as a new poster, you've got to have the fucking brains to understand that people don't consider you a regular poster yet, so being an arrogant asshole and saying 'Morons need not apply' in a thread where your grammar, spelling and knowledge of what an exciting, original plot completely fails...well, you come off as a concieted moron.

As I said before, and other users have said, there's a simple solution to your problem: Just fucking Google it.

It isn't hard, just go to Google, and type in the word 'beta'. That's B-E-T-A, okay? Then, press enter. Once a list of results comes up, you can proceed to bang your head against the table and curse yourself for being a concieted moron.
