I don't know about you guys, but I strongly associate certain times of my life with certain songs. This thread is for the songs you're listening to now that, in 5 years time, will instantly take you back to this moment.

    - One song per post
    - Songs of the moment, i.e. now: don't just list off your favourite songs/music library
    - Old songs are fine, so long as they're your "song of the moment"
    - Post a link to the song

    I'll start us off:

Omi - Cheerleader (Felix Jaehn Remix)

Reggae meets dance-pop, lots of trumpet.

The summer is getting started and this song is the perfect fit. I listen to this and I'm automatically thinking of sun, Pimms, girls in summer dresses and barbecues in the park.

Reiteration: songs you're listening to now

I don't listen to it very often. Only when I am angry, so these moments when I launch this song are especially memorable.

A little warning, though. That song is rather... Uh, let's say for memorable moments only. I can imagine not many people would enjoy listening to it.

Despite not understanding all that much Spanish, I'll have to go with:

    Bailando - Enrique Iglesias

Reminds me of me, last year. Partying, getting drunk and making friends with people around the world. Good times.

I spent much of the summer 2013 in a car. Without AC. And I don't really like summer.

But if I have to drive in the summer, this is what I want to listen to.

One song comes to mind that will forever more remind me of this exact moment, typing a response to Taure...

Is this song supposed to signify something to me?

The title track off the new CD by my favorite band. I listened to this repeatedly on my 6 hour drive this past weekend, to a place that I think I'll probably pack up and move to as soon as I find a job there. Definitely a leadfoot type of song, nice to flex my engine a bit. :)

It's the stupid, sappy graduation song every school in America seems to use.

Every single one. My high school used it, my university used it, and my law school (of all places) used it at the "welcome to being an alumni can we ask for some money" graduation brunch following commencement. It's sappy. And awful.

    Though congrats to whoever's graduating.

Artur Rubinstein's performance of 19 Nocturnes by Chopin, specifically his take on Nocturne #1 in B flat minor Op. 9 (the one I'm working up at the moment).

Over the past months, I've put in north of 150 hours working on my old house getting ready to sell it. My Chopin playlist was a mainstay.

An 8-year-long friendship between me and another person just ended with no hope of being restored.

Regardless if appropriate or not, this song will forever remind me of this, as I was listening to it on loop during our last conversation: ZHU - Faded

Sonata Arctica's Shamandalie, in remembrance of an old friend. It was not their song originally, but it was made theirs by mournful association.

Chances are, this summer will be my last 'summer break'. In that for the next forty years of my life, I shouldn't expect to ever just have three months in a row to just... fuck around. So even though I'm working full time, this song works for me: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UtF6Jej8yb4
