Looks fucking awesome. I need to see it in motion though.

I just hope Blizz has minimal say in regards to the screenplay. I've not seen much of Duncan Jones' work, but I've heard good things.

Mad Max was so amazing, loved every second of it. one of the best action movies I have seen. Charlize Theron was incredible and the whole thing was just a whole lot of fun. Maybe the most fun I've had in the cinema in quite a while. (Well, Kingsmen was also entertaining, but this was better)

Yeaaah calling Mad Max better than Kingsman is a bit of a stretch. It's an easy second though.

I enjoyed it more than Ultron, for instance.

Kingsman wishes it was the same calibre as Mad Max.

Naw. Kingsman was way better. It had some substance beyomd the action. Without the weird 80s metal ridiculousness to make it enjoyable, Mad Max would have been pretty boring.

I was excited about the WoW movie until I heard "orc protagonist". Then I stopped giving any fucks. Fuck the Horde and the incessant, administrative bias towards giving them cool shit. Almost 90% of the time, they're the aggressors and in the wrong but everyone at blizzard wants to suck their dick. Bitch please, we have some really great storylines going on and you want to follow some tusk-faced cuntmunchers who can't keep their dick in their pants when it comes to war? Bah.

So without Mad Max, Mad Max would have been boring?

Medivh led an army of demon Orcs through the Dark Portal IIRC. There may be more Orcs as baddies, but Demons and Medivh are the big bads.

Besides, canon could simply be used as guidelines. No one should really be cartoonishly evil, even the demons. I'll be disappointed if they are.

These pictures show Leto's Joker may be closer to canon Joker than you think. I'm actually pretty excited to see what Jared Leto makes of the character, Heath set a pretty fucking high bar, and it would be glorious to see it vaulted.

    ..... Exactly.

What I was trying to say was that there was no story. It was just a chase scene that lasted 2 hours. An awesomely fun chase scene, yes, but there was no depth beyond that. Did it need depth? Not necessarily. Would 10-20 minutes of good story have made it a better movie? Absolutely.

Whatever story you need is conveyed through the visuals. You don't need story spoonfed to you.

That would certainly hold true if they hadn't spent 90% of the film shooting a bunch of spiky cars/trucks driving through an empty desert.

It was a damn good movie, but it could have been a lot better. That's all I'm saying.

Mad Max isn't a movie that shoehorns in a romantic subplot to fluff the story out. It isn't a movie that throws a mischievous child in for the hero to rescue. It isn't a movie that ends in the hero finding the promised land and laying down his weapons for good. It's about a world gone mad, and the mad deeds of those trying to survive it.

The Mad Max movies have never been full of dialogue, and Fury Road might have had even less than the previous three, but that doesn't mean it lacks in story. Just from the four main characters you've got four different character arcs all woven into one thread. Max and his goal to survive the madness while haunted by images of a girl he couldn't save, Furiosa and her wish for a better life for herself and the other wives, Nux and his wish to get to Valhalla and then his realisation that he was lied to, and Immortan Joe and his desire to rule and leave a legacy.

tl;dr there is story everywhere if you look a little deeper.

Yes yes. I got all of that. And yet there was still more/better plot in Kingsman. That's my opinion and I'm done arguing.

Sorry that i didn't love the movie as much as the rest of you did? <_<

In other film news, saw Pitch Perfect 2 last night, and it was brilliant. Very deserving of it's opening success.

I hope it's better than the disappointment that was the first one. It was a painfully average film riding the coattails of Glee. The only thing it had going for it was Anna Kendrick being adorable. I'll watch it somewhere down the line because Anna Kendrick is in it (duh), but I'm not expecting much.

Pan looks kinda fun. Could end up being a travesty, but I'm a sucker for Barrie.

I think it's fair to say that if you didn't like the first, the sequel isn't going to win you over. But I did like the first, and thought the second was even better.

Just saw Tomorrowland. It was decent, if a bit preachy and nonsensical at times. Certainly stunning in terms of visuals. I recommend it if you are A) a big Disney geek and/or B) have nothing better to do.

If you miss it, no big deal.
