Yes, head boy/girl rooms are fanon.

Going back a bit to the subject of Tonks, and reinforcing Sesc's point, y'all focused on speculation and forgot to actually mention the most relevant part of canon, which is that Tonks has the ability to turn her nose into a pig's nose with her powers (OotP).

So her powers aren't limited to human-human transfiguration. That aligns with what we know about human transfiguration generally: human transfiguration includes all transfiguration of humans, not just from human into another type of human. For example, Barty Crouch Jr's transfiguration of his father into a bone.

So it would seem that Tonks can do with her powers what you can do with a wand if you know human transfiguration. That would include turning into an animal, but not keeping your mind when you do so (you have to be an animagus for that).

What exactly are the duties of a Head Boy/Girl?

That can't be right. Krum transfigured his head into that of a shark, but was able to keep his mind while doing so. It wasn't animagus either, or he would have been able to transfigure his entire body.

It's explicitly stated by Dumbledore in Tales of Beedle the Bard, one of the few times we're straight out told a rule of magic:

What about Krum, then? He was able to both think while having a shark's head and to turn himself back into a human on surfacing. The answer seems obvious: he's a shark Animagus who hasn't yet mastered the transformation (this is something I've proposed before elsewhere, in a thread talking about the process of becoming an animagus).

I can't think of any other canonical rule that can explain Krum's second task, short of him arranging for another wizard to cast a confundus on him once he was in shark form, compelling him to rescue Hermione. But the judges would surely have seen that.

Was Hagrid's name officially cleared in CoS? Was this the reason he could be a teacher from third year on?

How much can ghosts of Hogwarts interact with the physical world?

And why is Peeves afraid of the Bloody Baron?

In CoS, Nick was able to be wafted to the hospital wing after being petrified. Later on, he was able to be un-petrified with the Mandrake draught.

However, we know from the Death Day party that ghosts can't eat or drink.

That's more or less everything we know.

Worth remembering the Peeves isn't a ghost, he's a poltergeist.

Er, isn't that a rather large assumption?

There's a big difference between having a pig-like nose (some real life people are well on their way there) and having the nose of a pig with all of its attendant qualities and abilities. Is she truly transforming into an animal, or merely assuming an animal-like shape?

That aside, we're talking about a nose: Soft tissue and cartilage. We know she can change her facial appearance, but can she change her bones themselves? And, if so, how much? To what extent? Vaguely changing the shape of your anatomy is one thing, but changing into something with a radically different shape, more or fewer organs/bones, is another.

For the purposes of writing fan fiction, giving Tonks some leeway with her abilities could make for more interesting reading. However, for the purposes of determining what is or isn't canon, I think it's a massive leap —speculation— to suggest she can change into an animal, based solely on what we've seen: A nose shaped more closely to that of a pig than you'd normally see on a human.

(Of course, if she really can change herself that much, it's an even bigger crime she was so underutilized in the series.)

Nymphadora swept her long, purple and black hair across his face, but by the time his vision had refocused, he found himself staring into the eyes of a completely different person. Purple had been replaced by hair so shockingly white that Remus couldn't resist thinking briefly of Fleur, though he was careful not to tell his much younger, much more attractive mate about his thoughts.

He wasn't worried she'd be angry. After all, she had just been telling him the night before about her sudden infatuation with the quarter-veela's tight, round behind, as well as the many, increasingly depraved things she would to do to it.

No, Remus was worried she might actually morph into Bill Weasley's wife, and ruin every subsequent trip to Shell Cottage.

He shivered, but he truthfully wasn't sure if it was from pleasure or disgust. Tonks, who now wore an expression of triumph across her suddenly flawless, porcelain skin, leaned forward to lick lightly at the Moony's left ear lobe. Despite the sensations travelling through his veins and directly into his groin, Remus ignored Tonks' distracting fingers creeping into his speckled brown and gray hair long enough to comment dryly, "My what big teeth you have."

While chewing delightfully on his bottom lip and pulling down his trousers with her free, unnaturally sharp hand, Tonks' mumbled, "The better to Succubi, my dear..." before engulfing his cock in her somewhat serpentine mouth and waving her long, red, forked tail along with her splendidly-shaped arse.

It was the first full moon he had enjoyed in years.

A question, so that I don't get in twouble: Is there anything other than speculation about the year Sirius spent on the run from PoA to GoF? I know he lived in the caves at Hogsmeade, and once sent a parrot to Harry, but my knowledge ends there.

Well, he made his way to Little Whinging to see Harry. And he met Crookshanks.
Other than that, I don't think we have any substantial information.

Is it canon that Harry's magic helps him heal faster?
In many fanfics, it helped him after he broke his arm as a child, but I'm not sure whether or not the books confirm it.

NO. Canon doesn't say anything about it.

Heal faster? Doubtful. Help him survive or get away with injuries that are lesser than they should have been, like how Neville fell off a broom from a large height and only broke his hand/arm? Yeah, that's plausible.

Neither of those is healing is it? They're pre-injury protections, not post-injury recovery.

Does anybody know if a Ministry of Magic org chart exists? I just want to keep the relationships between different departments and sub-groups right, and it's kind of a pain without that visualization. I could make my own but I don't want to do the work if someone has already done the work for me.

I don't think it exists as such, not least because there are quite a few blanks, but I'm sure I constructed several versions ... all of which seem to be lost. Most was based on the Lexicon pages though, they are pretty comprehensive. If you don't want to do it alone, put up a thread, and we'll all throw some stuff in there. As I said, it's not 100% clear how exactly everything fits, so I guess there's some discussion to be had.

We know from OOtP that Snape's worst memory was his fifth year OWLs. However was it ever specified when and in which year Sirius talked Snape into going into the shrieking shack? I think it must have been before his fifth year because Lily was was his friend at the time.
