I was using that definition. Right now it appears it will not going to make any profit at all, at least not in the cinemas.

Anyway, because while a topic of movie profitability may be my little hobby, it's probably boring to others, a trailer for a new Tom Hanks and Steven Spielberg's movie called Bridge of Spies. Considering who is making it we can expect at least a very solid movie.

First trailer for The Martian. I'm hoping it's as good as the book - it looks promising.

Trailer looks good, but I have mixed feelings. The last space movie with Jessica Chastain and Matt Damon was good. Ridley Scott's last film wasn't. So we're kind of juggling balls on the edge of a cliff here.

Although I do like the poster featured on Wikipedia with Matt going "sup dood?".

The novel is great. Still think Matt Damon's sort of miscast in the role (When I was reading the novel I pictured Shallot Copley) but everything looks good so far.

I went and googled Shallot Copley thinking I missed Distric 9's brother before I realized it was probably a typo.

I just saw Spy. It is the funniest movie I've seen in a long time, it had me chuckling all the way through and sometimes laughing out loud. Would recommend to anyone looking for some lighthearted comedy.

Going to see Jurassic World tonight. Will edit thoughts in later.

Movie is good fun. I recommend it. Some very cool moments.

The death of Clare's (female lead) PA was brutal as fuck.

Good old fun, though begins too slow in my opinion. Also bad sound editing.
    Agree on that spoiler statement.

Jurassic World was good. Better than expected. I have to say the music score wasn't that good though.

    Still, 7.7/10, would recommend.

I kept waiting for that orchestral track to blow my socks off and bring me back to my childhood...

    It never really came :-/

I really enjoyed the movie, but...

The mustache twirling Ingen guys, ugh. How many times are they going to do the 'evil corporations' thing in the series? I didn't like the Godzilla-esque deathmatch either. Was hoping Chris Pratt would basically work some wizardry to save his posse, but they'd barely escape with their lives, leaving the island to the Indominus Rex, the most OP dinosaur of all time (a giant raptor that can camo...)

With Wong getting away, surely there'll be a sequel. Especially since I'd be very surprised if this movie didn't dominate.

Oh, and the movie was surprisingly really funny at parts, and not entirely due to Chris Pratt either.

I went to see Jurassic World expecting to be dissapointed. How could I not be? The last two movies were utter shit, but I kept believing. After all, for me personally Jurrasic Park is a perfect movie - I was almost 6 when I watched it and it was the first movie I saw at a cinema. So you know, nostalgia and all that jazz. Anyway, what's my opinion?

    FUCKING AWESOME.

First. The music. John Williams didn't compose it for this part, but hsi Main Theme is in. And it plays at every important for a fan moment in the movie.

Second. The refferences. This movie is almost choke-full of references and reminders of the first movie. There are entire scenes recreated from it. Even the plot, but that doesn't change much.

Third. The dinosaurs. Lets be brief. A movie abaout extinct animals has a better fight scens than the fucking Godzilla and Pacific Rim combined.

My final verdict? 11/10. Yes, I know that the plot is basically taken from the first movie, with cliche InGen mercenaries, two lost children and dinosaurs getting out. Fuck it. It is a love letter to the first movie from fanboys to other fanboys.

Shame that it wasn't the T-Rex that killed that fucking mutant, but a three-way brawl between "originalas" and a fucking mutie was awesome.

Thoroughly enjoyed Jurassic World - not as good as Park, but streets ahead of 2+3. The final set piece was worth the price of admission alone. I didn't massively care about the human characters, but they weren't bad particularly.

Subjectively speaking, I disagree. Saw it today. The amount of stupid strained my suspension of disbelief. It's like the screenwriters each chipped in with a few stupid ideas.

The saving grace was the scene from the poster. Chris Pratt was the only character in the film with any actual character who wasn't an idiot or a douche. I don't know if it's that he doesn't yet have the star-power to carry a movie or that the stupid stuff overwhelmed his ability to do so, but overall, I left the theater disappointed.

    About the finale...

You remember that underwater sequence from The Phantom Menace where progressively bigger monster fish get eaten by even bigger ones? It was a fun little gag/action sequence.

Yeah, the T-Rex/Velociraptor/Octopus/Frog hybrid dies by giant sea monster out of fucking nowhere.

And my final point... I think that Raptors deserve their own fucking Jurassic movie. Seriously, they're always the coolest dudes and in this one they're practically the heroes.

EDIT: This comes off as thoroughly negative. The film isn't bad, it's just that it's not good. Like, average. I get that it's a popcorn flick, but is it too snobbish to expect something smarter than Transformers? There were scenes that made me go 'holy shit, AWSUM', but for each one of those, there was another that made me want to slam my head into a wall. 5/10. Watch the cool bits on YT, be amazed, move on.

Does it reference the second and third ones much? If I could I'd rather pretend they don't exist and just take the first one. Maybe I'd take the second one (EDIT: In broad strokes, at least), but God, the third one was just trash.

Inside Out was just fantastic. Goddamn Pixar... why are you so good at emotional manipulation?

That's how Pixar operates though. They start with a simplistic story for kids with lots of silliness and exuberant color that's pretty easy to follow, then they weave in tons of jokes, references, and a level of depth that only older kids and adults will understand.
