I just got back into Minecraft after a long break, but I haven't used FTB before.

 

Since my last post in Feb, I actually got into minecraft quite a bit. I played FTB infinity for a little while, and another one on the FTB loader that I can't remember off the top of my head, but I've put a ton of time into skyfactory2, which was a lot of fun. I'd be up for playing on a DLP server.

Also, one of these days I'm going to build a Hogwarts scale model, but it's probably already been done.

 

I play minecraft on a daily basis. However, I got bored of mods a while ago and recently started playing in vanilla 1.8.7.

 

Might be interested, recently played FTB modpacks mostly.

Don't know how familiar people are with it, but a TerraFirmaCraft server might be interesting.

So... I bought minecraft for my mum not too long ago.

She seems to be enjoying it so far! Biggest hurdle is getting used to the controls. She's never played a game before except pokemon emerald which I gave her to play on her phone. I connected us to LAN in Minecraft so we could play together - lots of fun!

Also: I'm definitely up for some good ol' DLP server magic. I'm up for anything, TerraFirmaCraft, vanilla, FTB. I need to get back into minecraft again so I can get back to making videos!

So the 15w31 Snapshot for version 1.9 has been released today and it's the tits.

There are so many good changes, and more are upcoming as this is only a snapshot.

I like the changes done to the End, I like the Spectral Arrows (and potion arrows in general).

Nothing to brag about in comparison to... well, pretty much any other player, but I'm not a particularly good builder, so I'm very proud of this. Something I've been working on for the past few days that I've been at home.

Update on the above. Started town walls, added harbor, two houses and began working on catacombs (entrance via the sandstone building visible among the trees) and have one secret underground tunnel from the town hall (big cross-shaped building on the right) to the fort.

No idea when I'll be able to play again, so here's the final update for now. Work on the catacombs.

When you enter the sandstone building and make your way down, you enter this room:

The three "murals" on the walls: straight ahead, a skull. On the left, a king with a sword and shield, on the right, the king's tomb. The plans are to have three more big rooms behind each wall, corresponding to the theme of the mural.

TNT clearing was fun, even though it almost crashed the puter. Obviously the room is in a raw state right now. I did the giant pillars first to get a feel for the space. To illustrate what I roughly have in mind for this place:

This is kind of what I want to emulate: a very vertical feel to the space, levels stacked on top of each other, sarcophagi in slots in walls, narrow walkways, high drop below. Imagine the video meshed with Moria and you'll have a pretty good idea of what I want to do. I'm not a very good builder though, so this may be bigger than my ambitions. We'll see.

 

Has anyone grabbed Story Mode yet? I know I'm being given it as a Christmas gift but I've heard wildly mixed reviews. Some say the story mode goes a long way to fixing eventual boredom problems and others say it's just not minecraft anymore.

What I want to know is can you still wander off and build a fortress somewhere or are you shackled by the story?

 

Minecraft: Story Mode is a Telltale interactive movie with a thin coat of Minecraft paint to appeal to young children. It has no Minecraft gameplay.

 

Well shit. Looks like I'm downloading and playing Fallout 4 in secret to avoid hurting feelings.

 

I only just started to get back into the game myself. But there are so many updates since the last time I played it, like 2 years ago, my head is spinning. I just found my first village and am in the middle of trying to breed them along with all the new animals to be tamed.

The only thing that worries me about them is that I like to play on peaceful mode and from what I understand, I need to fight monsters if I want things like horse saddles. If there is going to be yet again another update come Christmas time, maybe I should wait to start again after it comes out. It just feels like such a waste of all the things I've done and collected to start over though.

 

Saddles can be found in Strongholds, Nether Fortresses, Desert Temples, Village Blacksmiths, Dungeons, Minecart chests in abandoned mine shafts and in Jungle temple chest

Village leather workers (white apron) will trade them and they can also be found through fishing.

Hey guys. Any interest in a new DLP server? I'm thinking vanilla with a few choice mods, or perhaps just plain vanilla. Something like FTB is a bug-riddled mess. I'd rather spend my time playing than fixing shit. But let me know what you'd like in a server so I can eyeball the interest and the amount of people, make sure I get the proper host for our number of active users and installed mods and plugins.

I'm new to hosting MC, so if there's anything in particular you think our server should have speak up now, give me time to find out how to put it together. The idea is for you fuckers to be active. I'm willing to foot the bill the first month or two but we can talk about hosting fees down the road.
