Since Harry has half a trillion Galleons to blow, I'm sure he can ship the monkeys as well. If not, I'm fairly sure once you have that obelisk exposed to sunlight that some primates will show up to worship it. You'll have to get in your head-banging before then (or have them do it for you, in which case you probably should have just asked Harry for an angry monkey).

Probably a bit off topic for an HP thread, but you haven't seen bad name combinations until you've looked into the PJO fandom. Percabeth. Or the Digimon fandom. Taiora, Rukato. Not even joking.

Back within the realms of HP fanfiction... Snack (Snape/Black) comes to mind as particularly horrible. And of course, Huna (Harry/Luna) and Luneville (Luna/Neville).

And then, of course, there's Scorose. :facepalm

Bad syntax and grammar. I can understand that the spell-check can't find every mistake in a full story, but if the author can't be bothered to look over 384 characters or less... I recently read a summary where I couldn't figure out if the author even had a working shift key or not, as he didn't even bother to capitalise the the protagonist's name at the start of a sentence. Additionally, the summary explicitly stated that the fic had an OP protagonist who likely only resembled the canon protagonist in name, paired the protagonist with multiple beings, including a deity and the protagonist's mother, and was a bash-fic. The fic also had over a thousand favourites... somehow.

 

Aside from what people have already mentioned:
Any version of submissive or dominant.
Someone's magic being "bound".
Hurt/Comfort with very few exceptions.
Any Japanese references and I do mean any.
Magical guardians.

 

Jamie Evans and Fate's Bitch was pretty good and featured no passive Harry.
