That's really weird. I remember writing a post in this thread and it seems I forgot to hit send or else I just imagined that I wrote it in the first place.

Yeah, even without Puppey and Kuro, I'd love to see NaVi make a NaVi style comeback.

What a crazy qualifier. Burden and Alliance finishing 4-5th was rather unexpected. Kinda hilarious that PR played the heartbreaker role though. That team has a rep for randomly winning games against anyone if they happen to have a good day.

Actually, Col has been doing pretty decently for awhile. 3rd at Canada Cup, 3rd in the Summit 3 qualifiers and the Starladder 12 qualifiers, Semis at the Major all star and I-league 3 qualifiers

Though that's just in America, so take that with a grain of salt.

Yeah but they were getting pummelled in those qualifiers by teams like Not Today and Tinker/Mouz, then managed to turn it around and do the opposite to them.

I only got next week off of work, so I have a twitch stream open but not paying too much attention.

    Any noteworthy matches?

Secret vs. iG saw some nice plays with classic QoP s4 and a nice TA RTZ.

Some awesome games in day 1. VG somehow dropped a game to MVP.hot6... I don't know what's going on in that group anymore.

I hate techies. It's very disappointing seeing that hero winning at TI. Maybe this'll be the impetus to nerf him.

He wasn't actually a very determining factor in that last game. I believe it was gainst C9? C9 pretty much managed to counter the techies with Sven armor bonus and dazzle. The tusk/techies combo was relatively useless. The problem they stumble into is they didn't anticipate the pick and ended having not enough aggression to shut down RTZ farm while kky and zai were running around just buying time, not even getting kill most of the time.

He was very instrumental in Col vs IG though. I agree that techies wasn't essential for the secret v c9. It just stalled out the game for RTZ to wreck.

You just have to know howt o play against him. He's a really limited hero and basically makes his team play 4v5 in most situations.

Take advantage of that, and you can beat him easily.

I treat him like every other hero, I love a good one on my team, and hate a good one on the opposite team. And vice versa of course.

    Lol Techies.

Most of the people who play techies are plain bad at him. Including me.
Staying in-lane, waiting your mine cd goes down and generally waiting for a lucky kill that you will get by an enemy accidentally walking on a mine.

Then there's the average players, who actually know how the suicide works and get in a few early kills.

The actual good Techies players are super rare. Since it involves map awareness on a whole new level. You need to know where to be and when to be there. How to counter wards and where to use mines and where to use the ulti bomb. How not to get zoned in by a combo of wards and range/spells. Exactly when to use your suicide skill so that you actually get more than 1 kill. How to actually use the stun bomb.

Believe it or not, 90% of Techies players do not know how to take advantage of the stun bomb.

Then there's the pre-requisite that you need at least one hero/guy who can actually handle a lane solo.

This is why, in most normal games, Techies is a hit or miss with probability being on the miss. The probability that you'll lose is not as high as with a IO on the team, but its still pretty damn high.

In pubs techies can stall out games like nobodies business. Especially when the enemy team is lacking ranged heroes. It is really suicidal to push high ground with melee cores once the techies has spammed the hills with remote mines.

I consider Techies in the same vein as other 'cheese' heroes like Tinker, Broodmother, Meepo or Storm Spirit, sometimes it will get last picked in a pub and you have a line up that can't deal with the hero and you get stomped, sure it sucks but it's also partially your own fault for drafting your lineup in such a way.
