Warning: This is the dumbest idea for a crossover ever.

Basically, an HP/Pokemon fusion. Harry Potter, a few months before his tenth birthday, meets Professor Oak when he comes to give a lecture at Harry's school (Oak currently being on a lecturing tour around the world). Oak recognizes that Harry has an affinity for Pokemon, and invites him to adventure in Kanto upon his tenth birthday.

Harry somehow manages to convince the Dursleys to let him do so, and heads to Kanto, with nothing but a red cap and a backpack... And somehow takes down a criminal organization and becomes league champ in the course of a year. This is made even more impressive by the fact that he speaks no Japanese whatsoever.

A year later, Red (a.k.a. Harry Potter), champion of the Indigo Pokemon League, receives his Hogwarts letter.

Now, to be fair... I warned you it would be dumb.

 

HP/SW crossover, obviously inspired by Jon's fic.

Harry defeats Voldemort, but not entirely. The last Horcrux remains in his scar and nobody knows how to remove it. What they manage to figure out is a ritual that will transport Harry to a place where it can be dealt with. Because Horcrux is getting stronger they have no time to test it.

Harry finds himself in a mysterious cave where he faces Voldemort for the last time. After he defeats the Dark Lord, he discovers he's not on Earth anymore, but in a galaxy far, far away from his home.

Few months later Jedi Knights Revan and Alek are send to investigate a mysterious sage who travels from planet to planet and heals people using what appear to be very advanced ways of the Force. Alek considers it a punishment for his companion's loud complains about the Order's refusal to help the Republic in the Mandalorian Wars. Revan minds it a lot less because she plans to quickly deal with their mission and then proceed with her own plans.

They manage to locate the sage, but he runs away without even hearing them. With a lot of trouble they catch him and in a process discover more of his uncanny abilities. Alek is troubled by mysterious power that can rival the Force, but Revan senses an opportunity. She convinces the sage, Harry, as he introduces himself, that if he really wants to help people then he should go to planets raided by Mandalorians.

They travel from world to world gaining more and more support for their cause. On their way to the front lines they visit Tatooine where a recent slave revolt left it under rule of a man called the Hutt Hunter. There they unexpectedly meet fellow Jedi, Master Qui-Gon Jinn and Padawan Obi-Wan Kenobi who inform them about the events on Naboo and how the Trade Federation is using the Republic's weakness caused by the Mandalorian Wars for their own gain. Revan is furious, but she neither have time nor troops she can send to help. Harry volunteers.

Before they leave Tatooine they discover that the Hutt Hunter is a ten years old boy who was their guide. Sensing his strong connection to the Force Qui-Gon convinces him to join them and become a Jedi in order to better help people in need as he helped slaves on his planet.

After his adventures on Coruscant and Naboo, that included a fight with a first Sith to appear in over a hundred years, are over, Harry joins Revan in the Mandalrian Wars. Over time they both grow closer. Then Harry disappears, summoned back to his world.

With nobody to keep her grounded, Revan slowly becomes Darth Revan. She defeats the Mandalorians, but before she can start her crusade to bring an absolute peace to the galaxy, Harry returns and stops her.

That's all I got right now. I couldn't choose between these two SW eras and decided that nothing really stops me from mashing them up. Other big change is making young Anakin more badass. He's a mix of Spartacus (a leader to his people, even if they were doubtful at first), kid Tom Riddle (can use Force like nobody else at his age and has sociopath tendencies he hides behind angelic facade) and Harry (ultimately he has a saving people thing). Once he's older he's definitely going to be on collision course with other force prodigy with a dark side tendencies.

 

Any particular reason for turning Revan into a female?

Or one for combining two time periods separated by thousands of years of history?

 

Because I don't care what later additions to the canon say. My Revan is female and the Jedi Exile is male.

Harry's class goes on a field trip. They visit historical magical sites across Great Britain, accompanied by two professors and an auror, and the usual wacky shenanigans of school trips ensue. Basically, The Magic School Bus... with magic.

Yeah, I don't really have a concrete idea, but it just seemed weird that Hogwarts doesn't do field trips. They can at least give them outings to the Forbidden Forest for the Care of Magical Creatures class.

 

Didn't Hagrid do just that? I mean, they didn't go deeper in than Aragog's lair, but hippogriffs...

And I'm not mixing up the book and the movie, inb4 reminder.

 

Correct... but I guess I meant deeper ones, like learning about the natural habitat of magical creatures and how to confront them in less controlled settings. Tbh I just want to see more of the Forbidden Forest.

 

Yes. Lets collaborate on this, Atram. The fact that in 2016 they are releasing a new version to Netflix makes it even more important we start this now. Harry Potter and the Magical School Bus.

A few ideas:

- McGonagall finally gets permission from the Board of Governors to take the students of Hogwarts on field trips. Unfortunately, they can only send the brightest of the bunch, and Ron and Harry aren't selected. At the very last minute, Harry sneaks onto the bus, and reveals himself once they reach their destination. Of course, he's scolded by McGonagall, Hermione and the others for being so foolish, but their demands to have him sent back to the school are fruitless -- someone must be sent to find them and fix the battered bus.

- Hogwarts is closed to Muggles and Muggleborns. Instead, a select group of former Professors and board members now fund a... different type of school experience for young witches and wizards. First year Hermione and Harry along with Dean Thomas, Justin Finch-Fletchley and others, mixed with a smattering of older students.

- Fifth year. Mrs. Frizzle, an old friend of Thomas Edison, is now returning to her alma mater -- Hogwarts. Her first point of emphasis -- School field trips. An unhealthy obsession with the fifth year Gryffindors aside, she's the best Defense professor they've ever had! Of course, that's because they're all too busy trying not to die to worry about their grades!

 

What if Hermione's accident with cat hair in the Polyjuice Potion in CoS could not be reversed?

Imagine if she had to live the rest of her life as a weird human/cat hybrid.

My prediction is that she would quit Hogwarts and learn magic on her own, perhaps with someone else (McGonagall?) as a mentor.

 

I belive there is at least at minimum 100 smut fics with this plot. At least as many with angst fics.

 

Pretty sure Whitetigerwolf over in FF.net has it as one of his challenges.

It's a basic fact that literally anything can be made into a Smut Fic. For example, someone managed to make a Smut Fic involving Karkaroff's Aide and the Goblet of Fire.

Okay then. I know this is the Plot Bunny thread, but

I'm dead.

 

Couldn't really get get idea out of my head, for some reason.

HP/Canaan crossover: Just six months after Harry ends up with the Dursleys, the Death Eaters can't get to Harry directly, so one of them ends up grudgingly working through some channels to get some Muggles to do it instead, since the wards have no effect on Muggles intent on harming Harry.

The offer goes through several channels before Snake, international terrorist organization, takes up the offer. Alphard, the "one-armed woman," takes the assignment on Snake's behalf, killing the Dursleys and kidnapping Harry. At the exchange point, the Death Eaters try double-crossing Alphard, who came prepared, and they end up dying. She contemplates leaving Harry, but decides to take him along for the hell of it.

Harry grows up under the dysfunctional guidance of Alphard, who mostly keeps Harry around out of amusement. She takes a serious interest in Harry when odd things start happening around him. She pushes him to replicate certain effects and takes it upon herself to take him on as a budding child terrorist, who can apparently explode objects with his mind given suitable motivation.

Just where this idea would go I'm not quite sure. First, Harry would have a certain degree of control over accidental magic, similar to the young Tom Riddle. So he can do Apparition or make things explode or push objects away, but that's about it and it takes him extreme mental effort to pull it off on a whim. (Initial motivation presumably supplied in a highly unpleasant manner by Alphard) That's the reason why Alphard decides to actively groom him into her new protege and as a new tool to use in Snake.

Where the idea goes from there and when/if Harry comes across the Wizarding World in a more known capacity, I'm not sure. One thing though should be that Harry's use of accidental magic doesn't make him overpowered at all, although it obviously gives him an edge against Muggles. He'd still probably be no match for a prepared wizard.

 

What if a Slytherin was selected to compete in the Triwizard Tournament instead of Cedric Diggory?

I remember reading an article about this topic awhile back and thought it could be a great idea on how to get some Slytherins into some interesting and "good" roles.

Would HP still help out a Slytherin with the dragons? Or no? Would the Slytherin even return the favor? It would be very interesting to see Harry against a Slytherin during the tournament and even moreso if Harry brings back the dead Slytherin as he is "just a spare." You may end up seeing some Slytherins realize that Voldemort is not what he says and joins the DA or Harry Potter.

Perhaps for HP to have a Slytherin romance as well.

 

Are there any named 6th/7th year Slytherins we are aware of, during Harry's 4th year? Either way though, you're effectively going to have to create an OC. That's not necessarily a bad thing if well-executed, but it is going to have to be an OC of sorts.

As far as the dead Slytherin angle goes, it might be interesting if she and Harry have building romantic interest in each other, and then she just dies like that in the graveyard. Remember that a decent part of Harry's storyline in year 5 was dealing with Cho's grief over losing Cedric. (And trying to come to terms with how Cho was just effectively rebounding on him) Barring creating another OC for that dynamic, Harry losing out on a romantic interest in that fashion might move Year 5 in some interesting directions.

But, not all Slytherins canonically buy into Voldemort anyway, I would imagine, right? Weren't there some Slytherins that participate in the Battle of Hogwarts and moreover, there are some half-bloods in Slytherin that probably wouldn't enjoy being effectively second-class citizens under Voldemort's rule. (As hypocritical as it would be)

Another plot bunny that struck me, not sure how good it would be.

Golem Harry plot bunny: Similar set up to BajaB's Substitute. Harry is a Golem (created on July 31st, 1981) and his "parents," along with the real Harry Potter and siblings return. Harry is stripped of his status as "Potter," losing access to his family faults, and is now classified as a magical construct. As a construct, the Board of Governors annuls his enrollment to Hogwarts, since he was never human to begin with. Already the Department of Mysteries is planning on obtaining Harry to be used for magical experiments. However, his participation in the Triwizard Tournament allows him a temporary reprieve, letting him reside in Hogwarts until the end of the Tournament.

Opinions on him are mixed - Hermione, eventually Ron, Ginny, Neville, Sirius, and others continue to treat Harry the same as ever. However, many more see him as nothing more than a convincing automaton and the Potters, while not unkind to Harry, also believe he is without a soul. (This causes Sirius and Remus to have a mild falling out with the Potters, as the latter decline to give Harry access to the family vaults again and are not of the opinion that Harry has a soul - basically, they think Harry is a p-zombie, similar to a magical portrait)

Dumbledore ends up revealing the prophecy as well as his suspicions that Voldemort made horcruces, including his belief that Harry is a horcrux. As such, Harry is Voldemort's equal in more ways than one. He goes through the Trials and at the end of the Third Trial, he and Cedric are whisked away to Little Hangleton and things pretty much proceed as per canon. However, when Harry comes back, he's accused of killing Cedric Diggory and is taken by the Aurors. He ends up in the DoM for experimentation, when something very curious happens. Despite inflicting fatal injures to Harry - such as decapitation - Harry is able to revert himself back to a normal state.

(Basically, when Voldemort took Harry's blood, his blood became recognized as Voldemort's blood and conversely, Harry is now considered by the world as Voldemort. The phenomenon is similar to Ciel's existence in Tsukihime - so long as Voldemort remains alive, the world treats Harry as alive, regardless of the damage inflicted upon him. He, like Ciel, still feels the pain however) They give up after a few hundred iterations of killing him and decide to craft him into a weapon instead, to be used by the Ministry.

At that point, I'm not sure where the story goes. It's unlikely that Dumbledore will take Harry's presence in the DoM lying down, especially since he, and not the real Harry Potter, is likely the being spoken of in the prophecy, though the Potters are skeptical. Not sure how exactly they would recover Harry though.
