Anyone else notice, that there seems to be a very large amount of Harry/Draco fics pouring into FF.net lately? I must not of really noticed before because i generally use the little filter they have to check by certain ships i like, but the last couple days the only filter i put on was the fic be 10,000+ words and i think at least 1/3 of everything i see is Harry/Draco....

I know i used to browse the adultfanfiction site, but about 90% of that is now between Harry/Snape/Draco so i gave up. Whats with the sudden increase?

Slash is an unholy force that corrupts the minds of inferior writers and forces them to write slash. It seems that it can also use the corrupted to corrupt others making it increase at an even greater rate. It is truly terrifying.

I guess it is as we feared: The h/d scenes in HPB have spurred on this trend. Much more 'material' for those slashers: Harry obsessing over Draco, Draco crying...

Disgusting, really. Better keep using protection, i.e. that filter you mentioned.

Its everywhere, it cannot be avoided and the situation will only get worse. I just wish there was someway we could alleviate the situation

The problem is i don't understand where the problem is comming from, so i dont know how to begin alleviating it. Becuase it's not just a increase in slash, it's Harry/Draco slash. And its a HUGE volume. Like i said nearly 1/3 of everything i see generally. Thats HUGE. I don't get it. Niether of those characters even showed a hint of being slightly gay.

Actually hold the phones, i think i got a possible reason. Draco has super blonde Veela hair. Maybe everyones turning Draco Veela style. But still that doesn't address the problen of why he needs to be a gay veela. Why can't he go and screw lots of girls?

Lately? I've been seeing it since I started reading HP Fanfiction nearly 2 years ago. It's an ongoing basis.

Harry/Draco/Snape is the outlet I like to refer to as the anti 'Mushroom Stamp' effect.

You see, what's happened is a paradoxical thing. Women, or in this case, tweenage fangirls, don't like the thought of receiving my 'Mushroom Stamp' upon their foreheads. They think it's derogatory or even just demeaning to women as a whole. So in order to combat my prowess at leaving such a mark upon their foreheads, they resort to writing Slash.

Slash pits two men who these fangirls imagine as Thomas Felton and Daniel Radcliffe, in a free-for-all waging war against the '!Man'

The '!Man' being beings such as myself who would brand these girls with the 'Mushroom Stamp' on their foreheads when they are old enough for me to touch without getting thrown in prison.

By writing Slash, these girls feel that they have somehow empowered themselves by providing material that would gross me out, or in laymen's terms - 'Holy fuck, what is that stupid ass shit this dumb bitch is writing?!'.

While they are not grossing me out per say, their absolute stupidity at allowing such drabble to be written leaves me with no choice but to keep my 'Mushroom Stamp' from gracing their foreheads.

So, as you can see, while they think they are writing Slash in order to cause Carpel Tunnel amongst other fangirls, it's really just a giant movement to keep the 'Mushroom Stamp' from being branded on their foreheads by any potential boyfriends they would have had.

Now stop posting about how the next generation is doomed!

Harry/Draco has always had the most stories on FFN. You didnt know that?

Anyway, Thal... what? I'd hardly even think about touching 9/10ths of all them. Lol.

Of course no touching for any extended length of time Sy - Thus the power of the quick forehead 'Mushroom Stamp'.

Apparently not. I usually only search by ship or look at recomendations here. When im desperate enough every couple months for fics ill just do a 10,000 or 40,000+ word fic search, and ive never seen it as bad as i saw the last couple days.

If only 1/3 of the stories are H/D then the volume may actually be decreasing. I remember that I once went on without filters. Big mistake, neh? Could not find the next day's updates for about 100 pages. The summaries made me wish for brain bleach. I then scanned through the not completely quicky female pairings (This was back when I was stupid enough to like H/G and H/Hr) and only got a total of about 5 pages for that day.
If I recall, roughly half of the fics not filtered out reappeared when I set the filter to H/D to see where the fics went.

IMO, Harry/Draco is better than Harry/Snape. However, having no practical experience in the field... I am not qualified to make an expert opinion.

Anyway, Harry/Draco is superior to Harry/Snape because it involves pedophilia. We all knew Snape was a greasy pervert, but still.

In any case, these were both measured on my retardometre, and Harry/Draco, at 9.81, scores slightly lower than Harry/Snape, at 9.89.

    Whaaaaaaaat?

Fanfiction in general encompasses all genres. You can write something fluffy and romantic, DLP-esque, or gay pedeophilia. If fanfiction is a model of life, and more slash fics are going up, what does that tell you about life?

What does it tell us about life WIS? That alot of fangirls that only a few years ago were cute and innocent just grew up and are trying to empower themselves by making guys such as ourselves (excluding any females) to being completely grossed out.

Yes, these sights such as ff.net are outlets for creative geniuses or whatever to write stories and find an outlet to pour their "creativness"

    *cough fan-bitches writing crap cough*

What was I about to say? Oh yer, like i was sayin, fangirls that have grown up and find themselves old enough to know the details about gay sex and trying to get themselves off by writing tripe about two/three and sometimes four completely non-gay (maybe snape) members of the same sex and making them do completely stupid shit that normaly would never happen unless your an idiote that likes to write shit about how two guys aroused dicks rub against each other.

simply put, where i'm coming from is that lately, the amount of volume of gay fanfic comin out of the woodwork is probaby to blame from the fangirls (that were young and impressionable three four years ago) into horney older fangirls writing bullshit.

Sometimes those damn filters dont work, and once i remember 50-100+ pages purley harry/draco/snape/remus, harry/draco/snape, harry/snape and harry/draco.

Be wary my fellow DLP.net members, that the allure of the slash writing does not in any way grasp you to write or read such tripe.

I hate that kind of shit. If the entire story revolves around slash and thier "relationship" read the entire story is about two guys having sex and thats about it. Im gonna have to say No, with a side order of GTFO of my face.

Especially if its written by idiotic fangirls who cant get it through there heads that two guys, who have never shown signs of batting for the home team, can all of a sudden become gay and start fucking each other off the bat.

But then again, no court is ever going to let me off if my reason for killing a fangirl is "because she's stupid and butchered characters" Keep in mind that a majority of Ff.net is NOT adults... mostly kids

Don't worry Cazten, it could be more Harry/Snape.

    *holds in laughter*

Yeah. Yeah that's true. I've read one well-written slash story. One. ONE. That was about three years ago. It was a very dark and stormy summer....

Slash is integrated into every fandom known to man. That's the way it is. (Trust me, I know fangirls--they're everywhere...they don't even know they're fangirls! Well...some of them claim they're not, but they are, deep down, slash infested.) And it will be this way for many moons to come.

SO you may see a lot of these fics coming in, but if you know your probability, there's a high chance that 99.9% of such tripe is ...well, tripe.

Prepare yourself with filters and a large bucket, to hurl into. That is all.
