Watched the new Dark Souls 3 trailer, along with those 16 minutes of gameplay.

Seen the Bannerlord trailer, which for some reason focused more on board games, checkers in this case, than giving us a showing of player combat.

That's all really.

Elite: Dangerous announced their first paid expansion that'll let you explore planet surfaces with a mini-Mako for resources, crashed ships and abandoned fortresses.

Sweeping Destiny changes to core game mechanics. They're also completely removing Dinklage's Ghost VO and having Nolan North (Nathan Drake) re-record it.

Battlefront seems to have a dogfighting mode. The XW and TF handle differently.

There's an attack on titan game being made by Omega Force.

A bunch of Xbone stuff I don't care about and also a lot of new gameplay footage from a whole bunch of games.

Bluzzard are announcing the new expansion imminently, but my intetesting at this point is purely academic until they rebuild the engine.

 

Oh ffs, wow expansion is called Legion.

New hero class is Demon Hunter...

Sigh, I'll probably play it now...

 

Can't believe they're bringing back Illidan for this shit. Seriously Bliz, enough is enough. Let the game stagnate in peace and relaunch development for Titan.

 

They've lost half their playerbase with WoD so they're trying other tricks, though perhaps they should try something other than nostalgia. There's plenty of other characters left instead of having to revert to burning legion stuff already.

 

You won't get anything new until wc4.

Though I don't know why you care about their lore or characters - it's probably the nostalgia you mention - that's their weakness. Their strength is in the gameplay.

And WoW's is, what, 10 years old now?

Finally played through Life is Strange E4 a few days back. Happy I managed to survive the spoiler because I did not expect that twist. I was left in a perpetual state of what the fuck for about thirty minutes.

 

I find it hilarious that they gave the playerbase a lot of what they had been asking for in WoD, and then took a gigantic hit in subscriptions. I liked it a lot more than most other expansions, but I'm not a raider anymore, that may have been why I still liked it.

 

Fans not actually knowing what they want? Surely you jest.

I just saw that the DH will be revolving around Metamorphosis for both tanking and DPS. So not only will I not be able to do something unique with the class (I spent a lot of time as a lock), the models for both forms are embarrassingly dated. Already.

The artefact weapon thing looks really cool. An (I'm assuming) legendary quality weapon you slowly unlock bit-by-bit through a long quest line that has its own skill tree. Sounds cool.

 

Illidan is only present in a flashback in the creation process of DH to explain why they would join the alliance or horde.

edit: nvm, newer interviews contradict what the older interview i saw said, apparently his storyline will span the entire xpac and "he will not be pleased with us after black temple"

Completely missed Everybody's Gone to the Rapture's release

One of the most beautiful games I've seen in a while. It may be a 'walking simulator' but I enjoy those sorts of games, so I'm pretty happy with it.

 

In case you missed it, R2 is 'run'. Takes 7 seconds to ramp up so not immediately noticeable.

Finally got around to playing titanfall (I've owned it for about a year). I'm not sure what all the hype was about. It's a bit boring, and it doesn't feel like there's a enough content. It actually reminds me a lot of LotR: Conquest, in that it's just a re-skinned game with a gimmick that is enjoyable for what it is, but otherwise meh.

 

Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen coming to PC

 

You have to remember titanfall was a launch day title. Meaning it was probably rushed. It feels pretty incomplete to me too. I only have it by virtue of being an EA Access subscriber and I only tried it long enough to realize that there are a lot of better shooters out there, and if you have EA Access you have Battlefield: 4 which is a better game at no charge as well.

Beyond those two games I've spent most of my shooter time in the past year on FarCry 4, Destiny, and Call of Duty Advanced Warfare. In terms of single-player play I have to recommend Farcry 4 over the rest. For Multiplayer it's close but I'd probably go for Destiny edging out CoD. That said Activision/Destiny are charging an arm and a leg for expansion packs that frankly are not worth the money. CoD is also about to be refreshed as well.

I have also recently played the new Gears of War remaster and if you've never played Gears of War it is fantastic and I highly recommend it. I am personally looking forward to Halo 5 and would rather spend money on that (their multiplayer DLC maps are free) than get raked over the coals for DLC for CoD and/or Destiny.
