She wasn't called an anti-semite.

She said on twitter that Hogwarts has jewish wizards and members of many other religions except wiccan. She also stated that Anthony Goldstein is Jewish.

 

Well you could probably find some retard who called her an antisemite because goblins are such an obvious caricature of Jewish bankers.

They're even tortured by the nazis Death Eaters.

 

Given that it's David Yates directing, I'm expecting to see some horrible color-grading.

 

Yeah I wasn't too happy with the choice of Yates... I mean, I have no massive objection to him, but he seems like a very "vanilla" director - functional, gets the job done, but no real flair. With a franchise like Harry Potter surely they could have attracted someone more interesting like Neill Blomkamp or Christopher Nolan.

 

I find it so exciting that I don't know any source material, which kind of makes directorial choice vital.

I really, really hope I get that sense of wonder I often associate with my first time reading PS.

I'm kind of curious how DreamWorks could animate a movie in this universe tbh.

 

While I wouldn't want to see either of them doing it, I'd pay good money to see Guillermo del Toro's vision of the HP world and bestiary.

 

Just get Peter Jackson involved already.

 

It's a real shame he didn't have the time to direct Prisoner of Azkaban or Half-Blood Prince. Both films were offered to Del Toro when he was already busy with Hellboy 1&2 respectively.

 

Gotta say, Del Toro's take on Dementors probably would've been awesome.

 

I personally liked the film's version of Dementors, but if you gave them to the guy who gave Pan's Labyrinth...

I kind of want to see a Tarantino Harry Potter movie now. I wonder what role he'd take for his token cameo.

 

We were discussing this in IRC yesterday -- in particular the idea of a tense Tarantino-scripted conversation between Rickman's Snape and Smith's McGonagall during DH, while Snape is headmaster.

The conversion would last 15 minutes before they suddenly broke out into a fight, leaving the entire staff dead in under a minute.

 

Because there would be extra movies?

While I can't see either of them doing a HP piece, I can imagine it would be entertaining. If you give Nolan some creative license I'd bet you could get the darkest fucking version of CoS that ever existed.
