Sasquatch pelts. Hairy Macboon hides. Banshee hair. House Elf ear wax. Troll foreskins. Goblin skin.

Perfectly acceptable clothing materials. All colored brightly in various hues of green, red, blue, yellow, purple, and magenta.

  4. I prefer the armored hide of the magical Black Rhinosaurus as the cloth and its heavily armored bone as bracers and chest plate.

^^^ That's the point. Dragonhide, despite being a magically powerful item, has become cliched. Not only that, but it seems as though that dragon hide is the be all and end all of magical armour.

There needs to be a rise in alternate forms of shielding. Jbern's 'To Fight the Coming Darkness' has Voldemort using a Unicorn hide vest, which is an excellent example of just how freakin' easy it is to make something slightly different up, and have it have a much greater impact than the old cliches.

Dragonhide, acromantula silk, armour, wand holsters or anything else made of the Basilisk from the chamber of secrets, all these things are horribly cliche. Has it ever been stated in canon that dragonhide can actually be turned into magical armour? I mean I know they use dragonhide gloves for certain potions and plants, but that could just be because it's physically resilient, rather than any sort of magical protections. The twins pick up dragonhide jackets as a fashion statement rather than for their defensive properties, for example. From what I can recall in canon it sounds like the stuff's only about as good as thick leather, so maybe useful to absorb a banishing or bludgeoning spell, or simply to absorb the damage of a cutting spell, but again I'd imagine that a padded leather jacket or something similar would provide equal protection for less.

I once toyed with the idea of Graphorn skin as a clothing material, its supposed to be as magically resistant as dragon skin.

I don't think it would protect any spell that has any physical force behind it. Dragonhide would probably protect against stunners and impediment spells, but a bludgeoning/banishing spell would probably break ribs. You might not get a messy hole blown through your chest, but you would probably get fucked up.

But then again, who really fucking knows how JKR set up this crazy wizard world? She doesn't have the best track record of filling plot holes.

I believe it was said that hagrid was protected by his magical giant BLOOD.

So get a hollow vest and fill it up with a dragons blood, enchant it a little, so as not to pop or leak and voila! instant magical armor.

It's hinted at, rather circumspectly, in GoF. I can't remember which page, but it was the part where Hagrid took Harry to see the dragons. It took 15 to 20 full grown wizards using stunning spells to even knock out the dragon. I imagine that if it took that many wizards to even pierce dragonhide with a stunning spell, it'd provide good protection against low power spells (basically anything you learn before 5th year).

It's still unclear if it's the Dragon's hide or it's natural magical power. I mean why isn't Dumbledore sporting dragon robes and a dragon helmet made from the head that spews fire?

I want another Potter Law. Elemental Harry or Avatar Harry is ridiculous and severely cliched. One elemental power would be permissable. But when he becomes the master of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water it's enough to make me want to jam a cotton swab to my brain.

You might as well add a time capsule. It's in the same league.

Law: Harry may only receive God-like/Avatar powers if he brutally sacrifices over one thousand people.

Clause: These one thousand must include Draco and Lucius Malfoy, Peter Pettigrew and Snape. Bonus points if Harry takes the time to taunt and mutilate them before killing them.

Addendum: Even more bonus points if these sacrifices include Hermione, the Weasleys, several assorted teachers and a werewolf.

Addendum: The sacrifice can by no means include the following: Fudge, Dumbledore, Umbridge or similar characters, for they are either too weak or reserved for a far more cruel fate.

Any foreign idea/plot not particularly explained to the readers satisfaction should be considered flammable (flame-able). i.e he suddenly grew wolverine like claws...

ADDENDUM: Uttering said phrase is acceptable if Harry still intends to kill the person, despite forgiving them.

Afiz: That's basically a given. Good try though.
