That had, in fact, occurred to me, but it would be pretty far out there. Although... I'm pretty sure I could have happily lived the rest of my days without reading the word "Bronntibodies." :p

Is it just me or was Myrcella's one of the most blatantly telegraphed poisonings in the history of fiction? Or, at least, televised fiction?

In all fairness, he was probably studiously keeping his distance in order to avoid anyone wondering why he cares about his sister's kids so darn much, and then getting ideas that maybe he's more than just their uncle.

But I also haven't read the books, so... :?:

You say 'sister's kids' like it's odd for nieces and nephews to be beloved by uncles and the like.

The Stark kids seemed to worship Benjen. The affection also seemed reciprocated.

It's been a long ass time since I've read the books though, and my knowledge of those kinds of platonic relationships in those times is also sketchy...

The Dorne bit was the dumbest part of the finale.

Doran: I'll just sit there while the widow of a man and mother of a daughter both known for using poisons kisses the girl she had tried to murder while wearing unusually colored lipstick.

Myrcella: I'll let my attempted murderer kiss me and not think twice about it.

Jamie: I'll stand to the side while my daughter's attempted murderer kisses her on the lips. Btw, we're in Dorne, the land of sex, fighting and poison.

Bronn: Similarly, I won't make a move while this happens, even though I was poisoned myself just a few days ago by the daughter of the woman who is right now kissing the girl I went through all this shit to save.

Trystane: I'll let my revenge-bent aunt kiss my girlfriend. Surely she's trustworthy now because she said so.

The facepalm that followed required the removal of my glasses, or else I would've shattered them.

EDIT: if only Trystane then kissed Myrcella on the ship. That would've been really fun.

And of course we won't immediately turn the ship around to the harbor to have Doran order Ellaria's ovaries pulled out through her nose. No, we'll sail on to King's Landing because that's what the plot demands.

I thought that Myrcella's "I'm glad you're my father" was a pretty transparent way of saying "thank god Robert wasn't my father".

Maybe that's all part of his game, if his other heirs revealed next season. If not that's really stupid mistake based on arrogance.

Well, if they do that they lose their hostage, Trystane.

I overall agree though. Why would you even allow them to be present? I understand why he didn't kill them, but any remotely competent ruler would have put them under house-arrest in some far-off location until the person they were trying to kill was far away.

But then there wouldn't be drama, you guys ! It's the last episode, people had to die.

    I blame the overall storyline.

You have Jaime & Bronn, Ellaria and the Sandsnakes, Doran and Areo Hotah.
End result should be Myrcella dying despite the best efforts of Jaime and Doran.

You could have written a great little subplot there for this season. The potential is there! It almost writes itself.
Instead they produced this garbage. It was really disappointing.

Another list of characters that are being cast. Spoilers.

The one that stands out is the Legendary Fighter. People speculate it could be Arthur Dayne in a flashback and, as unlikely as it sounds, unless it's someone from the future books there's nobody else that would fit this description.

Grim must have told D&D at least the rough plot outline going forward if they're already casting season 6. I wonder if the book comes out before then.

Euron Greyjoy is going to be played by Pilou Asbæk. He's rather young and to me he looks similar enough that he could easily play one of Loras' older bothers, not a Greyjoy, but these who saw him in other production say he's a good choice.

Additionally, rumors say that Aeron Greyjoy was cast too and lots of filming is done that appears to be a Kingsmoot. Meaning that Greyjoys will be this season Martells though maybe they will be handled a little better.

Was there any mention of a casting for Victarion or was he cut altogether from the coming season?

He looks a lot like Theon on this picture actually.

I thought Aeron had been cast before? Wasn't he the one who drowned Theon in season 2? Or was that just a random drowned man?

I can see resemblance in this picture.

Cormac McLaggen, also known as Freddie Stroma, was cast as Dickon Tarly, the younger brother of Sam. Now I expect at least one HP/GoT fic where he will tell Harry to handle it. ;)

A major spoiler for season 6 and book 6. Though I doubt people will manage to avoid that one.

If anyone has any doubts despite all oral reports suggesting otherwise, an actual photo of Kit Harington on the set all but officially confirmed that Jon Snow is indeed back.
