There was old theory floating around before HBP's release that Dumbledore was actually a Time-traveling Ron. I have no idea how this theory came about (it supposedly has something to do with Dumbledore's omniscience), but I was wondering if there are any fics based on this premise?

 

Just read "In the Clockface, Weighted and Weary" by Nuhuh and I'm wondering if anyone has come across any other time travel fics that involve the harry/ariana pairing? Preferably Harry going to the past.

 

Reading nuhuhs old stuff is bot- enjoyable and frustrating.

Could someone recommend a Fic with a well-explained Magic system? It doesn't necessarily have to be Canon, just something a little more elaborate than "because Magic".

Hardly any of his will ever get finished.

 

The Alexandra Quick series, starting with The Thorn Circle. The first four books in the series adds up to over 800k words. It starts with Alex's rhyming magic and builds from there. It is essentially the same as canon-HP's magic, but explored in greater depth and with a distinctly American flavour.

Events are told from Alex's perspective, so you learn more about the magic as she does.

 

I know a lot of people like that Fic, but for some reason I never quite got the appal to it. Something about it just turned me off.

 

There are a few things that might turn people off: how American it is, the lack of canon characters, and the moderate lack of empathy from Alex herself. She isn't always a sympathetic character. Even while rooting for her, I often wanted to slap her upside the head.

 

I definitely struggled to get through the first book due to the complete lack of sympathetic characters, and I would have been totally okay with it just abruptly ending with "rocks fall everyone dies". It gets much better once Alex has grown up a bit and you learn why the adults are acting in such seemingly unreasonable ways. She's always a frustrating main character, but her bad decisions at least make sense later on.

 

I was wondering if there were any fics that had Harry actually go through with his threat to kill Sirius, obviously before he finds out that he's innocent.

 

Are there any good fics with witch Petunia? I remeber reading one and it wasn's so bad.
If I remember correctly she was very good at cleaning magic.

 

Good fics with that plot point? No. I've seen a few in the past, and every single one was awful. They're just as bad as all the "Lily is the granddaughter of Grindelwald" bullshit.
