The Taken King has been released and, for everyone who fairly enjoyed the gameplay of Destiny, it now actually gets a slight story! Say what you will but the Taken King is definitely gorgeous to look at, and a major improvement over the previous DLCs.

I've only 3 blueprints, and while Suros looks fucking badass, I don't like, from looking at the stats, the stab hit.

I might make hawkmoon again, but I've got bad juju too. How quickly does string of curses charge my super? If i can go perma sith lord with this thing...

 

Just hit 40 last night and got the void edge. Man that thing fucks up Taken Wizards.

 

Rep, how's the Y2 Suros? Nerfed? Buffed? It's that, Hawkmoon or Juju for me in 7 leg marks.

I got 4th Horseman from using that 3 coins buff, I'm not a fan of it.

On other news, the Fourth Horseman was surprisingly good pre-TKK. I'm assuming it still is, even with the recent Shotgun nerfs.

 

Takes too long to reload. It's decent if I need to output quick bursts. I don't pvp.

I'm really confused btw about the leveling and light 'changes'. Seems the exact same, the information is just presented differently.

Light is now basically a calculated gear score...

 

Your level relates to what gear you can equip and such. Your Light level is essentially your damage, and it also calculates the drops you get from Engrams. Best thing you can do is to keep your blue / purple engrams for a character with a higher level light if you want weapons, or just swap armour engrams over to characters once you get them better weapons.

More Light = Better Drops, essentially. Also, Fourth Horseman is essentially just a high stability, slow reload version of Invective. Year 2 Suros is an amazing beast, Rep.

Light's your average of Defence and Attack stats, which now include your Ghosts, class items and Artifacts which all have their own defence values assigned to them.

 

Ended up getting Juju, mostly because of not used to before. I was on the quest pre expansion, then suddenly had it when I logged into TRK, lol.

Supposedly, people are having issues with not having anything to spend marks on, so I'll be getting Suros and Hawkmoon anyway.

Oh, btw, don't forget about using your motes. I don't know the exact numbers, but using one gives xp to all equipped gear. You get a shit load in ttk, and i used maybe 10 to fully upgrade juju? Give or take.

 

Omfg, Touch of Malice looks incredible! Exotic quest that ends with the raid, so I might actually have to do one...

It's a scout rifle. Look up the videos, it not only looks incredible, but dat dmg!

 

The main problem is hunting down 45 calcified fragments. Even with a guide, it's pretty time consuming...

Also, if you want a free exotic then do the Reef's section of TTK's war. You get an exotic Scout Rifle at the end of it, Boolean Gemini. Not the best weapon you can get, but it's a 290 exotic for free.

If you get the sword from the quest, upgrade it to 280 light level and then fully upgrade it, and you'll get the quest for the exotic sword. IF you intend to do the raid, however, be warned that it is NOT easy...

 

It's worth it. Regular scout rifle until you're at one bullet left, then it does double damage and returns said shot to the chamber at the cost of around 1/15ish health.
